Why did they fictionalize Catalina Island (Catrina)? Anyway, it was a good enough episode. I'm so sick of that mess in Virginia its kind of a nice break to have another time line somewhere else.
Thought the same thing myself. Having been to that island, I immediately picked up on the location, but was left without a clue why they altered the name on the ads board.
Yeah, and I thought it was interesting that they picked Catrina/Katrina. Maybe there's a licensing issue or something for the name.
I am thinking that they wanted people to assume the island was smaller than Catalina. Catalina has a population of 4-5000 residents with another couple of thousand tourists on a good day. So that would mean there would possibly be 8000 zombies to deal with. More than that family could handle. Also the ferry they showed that sunk was nothing like the modern ones they use at Catalina Flyer. It was probably easier to stage that fake sinking with a junk boat than using something more modern.
I think the entire Island is run by the Catalina Island Conservancy Company. I bet they own all the rights and probably would charge them for the use of their name.
Are they recycling props with TWD? I'm pretty sure I've seen that truck before. :whiste:
Oh, I get it. They're on the Lost island
This plot line is terrible. Last night I just sat in disgust as it went down.
They alluded to this outcome in earlier episodes. Why does she have the radio in the first place? There is no reason other than to setup the ship hijack. I get it's a TV show, but really disappointing in the way it went down.

The guy making the head shots from the RHIB is not so amazing. The seas were not that rough and he's clearly practiced at that kind of thing...probably a former SEAL given that he lives near Coronado somewhere.
