I just learned minutes ago that trumpie niece, 36 single mother of four, learned today that she has covid. Is very sick, and went to the ER, was tested, discovered positive. She had mild covid back in September 2021, but this time she is very sick yet they sent her home after the ER visit.
As I said the funny thing is.... she did have covid back in september, a mild case, and everyone was telling her back then that she now had antibodies so not to vaccinate. And as you might have guessed, she refused to vaccinate before having covid, an full blown antivaxxer. So she believed, everyone around her believed she was safe with having acquired "natural antibodies". Well, obviously being safe was not the case.

And this is alarming to me because the assumption of all anti-vaxxers, those who have caught then recovered from covid, they all believe they are now safe from covid having acquired herd immunity and natural covid antibodies. Obviously, natural covid antibodies are weak antibodies and do not last. So.... there is no such thing as "HERD IMMUNITY" when it involves covid. Not any more of an immunity than catching a common cold or the seasonal flu then thinking you can not catch the flu a second time.
And guess what this means....???
It means that people who are unvaccinated can catch covid over and over again. And with getting more sick with every re-infection of covid that they catch.

So apparently... the only antibodies that matter are the antibodies produced from the vaccines and reenforced thru boosters. Even with the vaccines, science knows that to retain those antibodies triggered from the initial vaccines, people will still need the boosters. Catching covid and recovering from covid without a vaccination is not going to do it. Unvaccinated people will catch covid over and over again as long as there is a covid. And with my niece, this second time around covid hit her a lot harder. I wonder if this might be the trend of covid? Where after the natural antibodies wear down, will catching covid a second time or a third time hit the body harder and more severely? After the natural antibodies wear down and go away, does the body react more severely when hit a second time?

Bans the... mandate, not the Vax.
So anyone who feels the need to protect them can do so.

This, on the start of COVID's third year and the subject is kids. Who the heck hasn't already been vaxed or exposed? Repeats will probably face a minuscule risk.
seems that you and many are still thinking in the singular "me" perspective and can't comprehend that vaccinations are not just for personal protection, but for protection of everyone in society. Every time I see such stupid singular selfish posts, I think to myself "another idiot who has no clue about Science and the full function of vaccinations". People with your perspective are dragging us backwards.

Allowing outbreaks of preventable diseases is one of the dumbest fucking things ever, and it's morally abhorrent.

These policies will cause children to suffer for no good reason.

Not to mention the health economics of it all make 0 sense. Which is more expensive - a cheap, mass produced vaccine or a hospital stay?

And the economic impact of a reduced work force, teachers, admins, pick a job. The dumb dumbs screaming "buh-the-economy" in 2020 are the same dumb dumbs not getting vaccinated and anti-fact, anti-science, anti-critical thinking.

Oh come on, the rest of the world still doesn’t understand the obsession of guns the US has. You’re too stupid to handle gun violence. So we’re not surprised how poorly you’re handling covid.
