Trumpcare rolled out the big beautiful healthcare yet?
Yeah, that always bothers me when Republicans say Trump has kept all of his promises and not one reporter asks where his great healthcare plan is. You know, the one that would be cheaper, cover everyone, etc. It's not like that wasn't one of his campaign promises.

Well, you know his supporters don't need no Obamacare, they have the ACA!

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Or how he wasn't going to cut medicare or social security, or how he was going to raise taxes on rich people, how he was going to pay off the national debt, etc, etc.

It basically comes down into two categories:

1) Racist/xenophobic things. He's generally kept his promises on those.

2) Helping regular people things. He's broken basically every single promise he made here.

That's what Dems need to run on in 2020, the promises not kept, since that's Trump's 2020 slogan "Promises Made Promises Kept".
Where's the great healthcare?
Where's the great Infrastructure?
Etc.

I think Trump just fucked himself.. if 2018 is a teller of anything, its that people wanted healthcare. If the courts do trash it.. watch the backlash.

You'd think that Trump and the GOP would like to bask in Barr's "no collusion" memo for like a week before setting themselves on fire. Even GOP leadership is coming out in support. This is political malpractice of the highest order, every poll done indicates this is the place they are most vulnerable but they think they're going to cruse through 2020 on Trump's charisma. Simply defies belief.

This what's actually happening out there in the world instead of the arguments between paid partisans on cable news. Dems are talking healthcare, education, environment, wages/benefits, etc. Trump as a lying stupid corrupt piece of shit is just the backdrop that's been accepted.

Trump is going to run on "no collusion" and a raft of fear mongering about how Democrats will destroy the country that he's made perfect. Much like the focus on insane immigration rhetoric in the midterm I'm skeptical of this appeal for a re-elect.

People do want healthcare you’re right. The ACA unfortunately made it unaffordable for many. The preexisting conditions part although nice for those that have it isn’t insurance and thus the insurance companies have to price for that.

Nope, this is an excellent strategy. News of this court decision is buried by the Barr letter coverage. This is classic Trump; scream about one thing while doing something else.

And yet ~20M Americans gained coverage. Funny how that works.

Odd that attempts to repeal the ACA were among the most unpopular bills in US history then.

Did conservatives not learn anything from 2018? People HATED conservatives trying to take away their health care. It’s one of the primary reasons republicans got slaughtered. Now they want to repeat? Lol.

Repubs are now deciding and defining what the hot topics are as far as the 2020 campaign goes.

The Dems need to stop that in its tracks by concentrating on what gave them such whopping victories in the House. They really need to shout down the Repub's hollowed out contrived rhetoric concerning their very loud use of code words, false narratives and their existential reliance on using hate and fear as motivators for their constituency.

The Repub's avoidance of campaigning on actual real issues that are of concern to the commoners who make up the vast majority of the population (other than the blatant lies and empty promises they sell quite well) is quite telling as to who the Repub leadership owes their allegiance to.

To this very day I am in awe of how the Repub leadership can tell their constituency outright lies and obvious falsehoods as if they were indeed facts and have their constituency buy into that bullshit wholesale no questions asked.

Wow. Apparently at least few elected Rs think this is a good thing because if the ACA was invalidated and millions thrown off healthcare immediately that would mean the Democrats would no choice but to immediately capitulate to Republican demands on healthcare and the result would be a political victory.

Insane in the membrane.

Things like this show how completely these guys have lost touch with reality. It reminds me of this great Pareene quote:

Congressional Republicans went from people who were able to turn their bullshit-hose on their constituents, in order to rile them up, to people who pointed it directly at themselves, mouths open.

I would not be surprised to learn that congressional Republicans and Trump believe that a court victory will cause Democrats to capitulate to them on health care just like they were convinced that taking the federal government hostage earlier this year would do the same.

If this is actually their plan they are fucking morons.

TFW you remember that one of the crazy complaints about Obamacare was that it would create death panels when that job was literally being done by private insurers.

I was suddenly reminded of the Trumpanzee that railed against Obamacare, until he started to go blind...

I bet you can't guess what he signed up for!

Whatever. People get what they voted for. Just another thing to whip up the democratic base for 2020.
This better be like 2 or 3 on the agenda for Dems if not number 1. Time to move on, and improve the lot of the American people. Remember those pubs that claimed during 2016 that they were for health care for americans while pushing the lawsuit against the ACA? Such liars.
