Hahaha. Reminds me of when he tried to lie about this before the 2018 election. That did not work.

Yeah, voters are paying attention to this like few issues and it's been nothing but lies and empty promises from the GOP/Trump. They got punished for it in the last election and seem to want more.

People do want healthcare you’re right. The ACA unfortunately made it unaffordable for many. The preexisting conditions part although nice for those that have it isn’t insurance and thus the insurance companies have to price for that.

Only because Republicans couldn't stop themselves from sabotaging the exchanges and/or denying people in many states the benefits of the Medicaid expansion.

This better be like 2 or 3 on the agenda for Dems if not number 1. Time to move on, and improve the lot of the American people. Remember those pubs that claimed during 2016 that they were for health care for americans while pushing the lawsuit against the ACA? Such liars.

Political reform first. Eliminate the filibuster, expand the House, pass HR1, and admit all US territories plus DC as states. Make a deal with Republicans to pass and amendment specifying finite staggered terms for all formerly lifetime appointed judges (including SCOTUS) with strict timetables on the nomination-confirmation process. If they balk then pack the court. As we've seen if all other reforms remain vulnerable to GOP fuckery then they are of limited long term value.

Then move on to healthcare, environment, infrastructure, immigration, education, and wage/labor law.

Crony Capitalism made it unaffordable for many, not the ACA.

You have to fight socialism no matter the cost because the rich fear the cost will fall on them. And you know who the rich favor and who they pay to keep socialism at bay.n

Correct. Because the healthcare industry was in Obama's back pocket and he rewarded them handsomely all under the guise of "helping the people". Cause and effect.

Wasn't there quite a few upper class men that said they would give up half their wealth if they could keep other the half during the Great Depression?

I think too many many countries at that time were implementing enough Socialist policies to avoid moving to them or more then enough loyalty to the US to have any desire to actually do so.

I can't claim I know enough about the time around the great depression to identify the motivations. I appreciate your input.

I can say that loyaltly to country doesn't strike me as a quality wealthy people rely on.

At least it wasn't easy to do so as it is now or move large amounts of wealth and money.

What fucking morons. Really, trusting Mulvaney's strategy and telling the cabinet to shut it? Dude had the brain genius idea of trying to make Obama essentially kill his signature achievement just to keep the government open and thought it would work.

The Trump administration’s surprising move to invalidate Obamacare on Monday came despite the opposition of two key cabinet secretaries: Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azar and Attorney General Bill Barr.

Driving the dramatic action were the administration’s domestic policy chief, Joe Grogan, and the acting director of the Office of Management and Budget, Russ Vought, according to three sources with direct knowledge of the decision. Both are close allies of White House acting chief of staff Mick Mulvaney, who helped to engineer the move.

The new challenge to Obamacare follows a heated internal administration debate that began late last year and continued through yesterday's announcement. Azar argued against backing a lawsuit seeking the full repeal of the health care law at a White House meeting in late December, citing the lack of a Republican alternative, according to two sources briefed on internal discussions, while Mulvaney said that taking a bold stance would force Congress into repealing and replacing the law.

Asshole tea partiers like him simply do not care if tens of millions of people stood to lose health insurance in their very smart gambits.

These people are seriously the dumbest. If the ACA got invalidated the Democrats’ response would not be to push for something less than the ACA, it would be to push for something more.

Right, only a complete idiot would look at the current makeup of the Democratic caucus and think that they'd ever agree to something LESS generous than the ACA. Most Republican legislators seem to get this but some people have convinced themselves that this would work.

Sounds like a plan. Since Trumpcare never happened, let them kill it off and Dem's can campaign hard on a full on replacement.

Instead of taking a victory lap with the seemingly clean bill of health from Mueller, Trump instead chooses to stick his dick in the festering hornets nest of health care repeal. The man truly has a talent for choosing to take the worst option when doing nothing is just as easy.

And yet ~20M Americans gained coverage. Funny how that works.
Democrats suck at marketing so much. Yes 20M other people got coverage. But ~250+M got significantly better coverage, in nearly every way, including every single person on this forum that has insurance.

Democrats need to learn that people care much more about how it directly improved their lives as opposed to how it helped a bunch of other people they don't know.

I don't think that doing/saying nothing is usually much of an option for him, even when it would suit his interests.

Yea, the polling was terrible on the ACA until a few years ago when it started turning around. Once people figured out that EVAL OBAMACARE was the ACA opinions shifted. The Republicans were allowed to successfully demonize it but eventually the truth won out.

For 2020 a lot of hay is going to be made about how Trump promised the moon on healthcare (and a bunch of other things) to help daily life only to do fuck all about it or actively work to make things worse. I'm looking forward to Trump attacking say a Medicare buy in as socialism lol. Going to be a difficult sell.

Should be a great winning strategy for Trump and the Senate Republicans in 2020...wait, who am I kidding, they'll fall for it completely.

When I say you have to fight socialism, I of course mean, if you are the selfish rich which includes making socialism a dirty word like the word liberal. The rich maintain power by making sure there are enough ignorant blind people who live in terror of loss, and that those they can’t mind control don’t vote.

Pretty much why he has done nothing but lose money on every single business decision he has made in life, when just sitting on the interest of his father's wealth (Stolen from the IRS), would have made him wealthier than he currently claims to be.
