lol whoops I guess I just always mishear the pronunciation when they say it on the radio. Also, seems to be in Buffalo, not Niagara Falls.Ummm, what does a squall have to do with anything?

Overall amusing that Danny Boy personally got the shaft, but not happy at how sensitive this country has gotten because... feelings. It's ok, soon we will live in a dystopia very similar to what The Giver portrayed. We will be sedated by the ruling class into happiness and not experience anger or lust or jealousy or pride because that is what keeps the peace. Meanwhile forgetting what forged us to greatness in the first place.

So much butthurt in this thread over the removal of symbols of white supremacy...
Political correctness has turned into a raging cancerous disease in this country.

The great melting pot society was the worst idea in the history of the world.
Sigh. The term "Redskins" might have been disparaging 100 years ago. But I doubt most people associate the term with its disparaging meaning now. Most would associate it with the football team, not a racial slur. Language, like anything, can change.
If you want to look something that is disparaging towards Indians er., native Americans, check out the check out the Cleveland Indian's logo and their mascot, Chief Wahoo.

No, a melting pot is a great idea, it made us incredibly creative and strong country.
It's the thin-skinned limp-wristed bed-wetting bleeding-heart pussies that America is apparently creating nowadays who are fucking everything up.
Agreed that the team name was originally set by a racist.
Don't necessarily agree that all (or even most) American Indians find the term to be racist. I've read conflicting reports on the issue, with some indicating that some American Indians are proud of the term as it is used in connection with the Redskins football team. Which begs the question - how many people need to be offended before a term is so offensive as to not be subject to trademark protection?
As for changing a trademark - it ain't easy to keep brand loyalty. Just ask the Washington Bull.. . er . . . Wizards.

Why does your argument about the Redskins name not also apply to the Indians logo? The Indians have had some variation of a Native American as their logo nearly as long as the Redskins have been a team.
I actually agree with your premise. But your assertion the two scenarios are different is just wrong.
"Begs the question" doesn't mean what you think it does.
Mostly because the white man killed off almost all of them already.
I for one am outraged about other people being outraged about something I am not outraged about.
