All depends on the driver for sure. Here in Canada my Purolator guy is excellent. Because of this I won't use any other company. It's all about the end user experience.
Canada post, holy crap. Was working at home and expecting a new PC part I was jonesing for. My station is 10 feet from my open door. Nice day out. The mailman tries to slip an attempted delivery hangar on my open door. "Whoa dude"! I'm right here, jeesus"! Turns out he never even had the package. They just send him out with the mail and delivery notices, eff the customer they can all come to the post office and pick up their stuff. Try to complain and you are met with total uncaring attitudes at any level.

I had already spoken with FedEx in order to change the delivery to be able to pick it up. The FedEx person was very helpful and said they would investigate why the delivery person did not do his/her job. The guy at FedEx ground was apologetic too. I will contact NewEgg as you suggested. I was just very frustrated as this has never happened to me before.
That's something, but one long email with specific details is even better...

My old post office used to pull that BS fairly often. Pissed me right off, though I'd turn the tables on them by showing up without a notice when their website tracking told me it had arrived at the PO, and when they asked (with the "usual" dose of attitude) why I was showing up without the little slip, I'd point out with my own bland/dry attitude (plus a slight, but noticeable, smirk) that the carriers didn't bother to leave them half the time until the second notice anyway, so did it really matter? They made faces, but they gave me my packages... Nothing like a bit of mutual passive-aggression to pass the time, after all.^_^

Fortunately, my current post office is much better, which is a Good Thing, since the pick-up location isn't within any semblance of reasonable walking distance and isn't even convenient to public transportation...

Around here, some packages come US Postal Service. They usually just put it in the mailbox (if it will fit) or they put it by the door.
UPS and Fedex will put the parcel by the door. For all of them, they just about never ring the doorbell (button is right in plain sight)
unless the package is marked Signature Required.
