Correct. And in my experience it costs only an extra $1.00 for each additional $100 of insurance you buy. For example, I sent a packaged today via FedEx. Standard shipping came to $23. Another $200 of insurance cost me $25 total.

Do they still have the flat rate boxes? I saved a bundle shipping tools/books/poker chips in those things when I moved from HI.

I have filed 21 claims for items I've shipped in the past 4 years. they all were covered.
Of course, I've never filed a damage claim, it's always been an item not delivered, or an item delivered w/o signature when the package required a sig
before you think that 21 claims is a lot, take note that I've shipped thousands of items.
