Specifically ...

Which has better rep for:
1. Quick delivery (I live in DC)
2. Careful handling
3. Better customer support

I will have to go pick up as no-one is home during the day, plan on 3-day/super saver.

Thanks!

Either.

I've had excellent experiences with both as far as package condition goes. My only beef is UPS always arrives late. I'm waiting on something now and it's 5:07. FedEx is always here before noon, or in rare cases never after 2:00, even with ground.

fed-ex or usps. fast and reliable. I've had horrible experience with ups. Either my stuff comes late or my package is beat up.

Fed-ex, much better then UPS. I can't tell you how many times I've had to drive 95 to Laurel and pick up a package that UPS wouldn't deliver without a signature. Worst of all, they'd lose the package and I have to drive back the next day when they finally figured out what the hell they did with it. How do you lose a 40 lb Antec Titan for a day?

UPS sucks the big one.

Always use FedEx Express if given the choice. The few extra dollars it costs over UPS Ground are WELL worth the peace of mind.

Do you have a source for that? I looked on UPS' site, but it's about as intuitive as a 1990s digital art page. It's now 6:37 and UPS still hasn't shown up.

I take back what I said. Go FedEx. Hell, I'd ship DHL befor-- well, I wouldn't go that far..

here's a good comparison: two packages from 2 different companies shipped on the same day from Illinois and Georgia (one of them was Monarch ). The fedex-ground package from monarch was scheduled to arrive on 09/08, and it arrived 09/06. The UPS-"2nd day air" package from Ill was scheduled to arrive 09/08 and arrived on 09/09. I live on the west-coast. Both packages showed that they had to go to KY first on their way out here.

Fedex all the way. UPS is terrible. I always loved their Ground service: "10 days"... they mean quite literally, even if it's being mailed within the same town, they'll find a way to make it take 10 days to get to you. I can't stand UPS for anything anymore; thank god for Fedex

Both companies have horror stories, go with the cheaper shipping. If you are shipping from the egg DHL is not an option last time I checked so no worries there....

I'd ship DHL over even FedEx in my area. They kick ass. They're the only company that will call and reschedule a package delivery on the same day. This is even on crappy ground service. They're package depot is even in a decent part of town too.

Agreed. My experiences with DHL are very good. And, like you said, for me their warehouse is not two towns away.

Fedex over UPS though.

Well I hate to admit this but I work for UPS, but I also perfer to ship FedEx lol. I like FexEx only because it gets to my house a few hours before UPS. Also it seems to take less time. The only beef I have with FedEx is exactly what happend to me last week. I ordered RAM from Newegg on 9/2. I rushed the order so it would be sent out that day. I receive an e-mail telling me my stuff has shipped out on friday like I wanted. It was coming from NJ, I live in Rochester, NY. I go away for the weekend, get home Monday and check the status and it says "at destination in Rochester, NY". So I assume that it will be here the next day on tuesday. So I get up, check it and it says "Package not due for delivery". So just because it go there early FedEx deicded to hold it a day. Thats that only problem I have with FedEx is that if it gets there early they hold it. If it was UPS atleast I could go get it.
