I had a freind, who is a fedora fan, install this thing on his new Toshiba laptop. It's a 'Centrino' item with Pentium M 1.6ghz, Intel wireless, and a nvidia video card.
the only trouble he had was with the nvidia drivers. He had to find a patch for the nvidia drivers himself and apply it.. now it works perfectly. So if you depend on binary-only drivers for some items it will probably be best to wait a bit for the next releases of these items.
Gnome seems very snappy. Fast.
Power management is very nice. Suspend to disk worked with no effort. Hit 'suspend', everything blanks out, 3-4 seconds later the machine takes a nap. Even does the little heartbeat thing Ibook-style. Press the button and it comes right back up and asks for a password to log in. He was like, "Lets see if this works".. and it did. (which is fairly suprising thing in Linux.. something like that to work for the first try)
