Just watched a Hannity piece on this, because my wife sometimes queues him when in a masochistic mood. Basically, he said "liberals" (implying all of them) and "the media" were playing this up as an insane conspiracy theory where Russia hacked our voting machines and altered the outcome of the election. The problem is, I've read about 8 articles on this so far, and none of them are pushing that theory at all. I bet not 1 Hannity viewer in 1000 ever bothers to check out anything he says. He just lies. Nothing even especially creative. Just garden variety bald faced lies. It's easy when no one bothers to check, even if checking would take a matter of minutes.

So let me get this straight. You and other hillbilly Trump supporters believe that there are thousands of "Mexicans" (Mexican nationals), eg. NON US CITIZENS, who would have nothing better to do than vote in the US elections...even if it means a serious risk of deportation/imprisonment? YOU SERIOUSLY BELIEVE THAT? I have news for you: I don't think the average Mexican is THAT dumb.

And to answer your question "where is the story?"...well obviously it's on nutter sites, like Breitbart. Ironically, a little bit googling did indeed come up with a case of a Mexican National who illegally voted in TX, some lady who believed she was US citizen, respective lied about it.

What I "liked" about the Breitbart report is that they entirely left out that she voted REPUBLICAN. (Not surprising really seeing that she wasn't obviously the brightest...)

Mexico was helping Mexican nationals become US citizens so they could vote against Trump. Those are facts. Any ridiculous blabber from you just proves how lazy and uninformed you are, and all the name calling in the world is not going to change the facts that there was organized support from the Mexican government and groups inside Mexico to get as many people eligible to vote in the 2016 election.

I love how you progressives stick to your preprogrammed script of responses regardless of what was said. Did I make a claim about illegal voting? No. So next on your list of idiot tin foil hat responses.

Persistent derail attempt, huh?

Its clear she was a rookie when it comes to talking to newspapers. I'm surprised with how cavalier she was that she didn't expect to be caught.

The odds were against her no matter what. The documents she gave up were only read by six people and her duties had nothing to do with the documents. Finding out who released that info was elementary.

The intercept was also pretty careless with how they handle this. Apparently they reached out to other officials who are required by law to report any leaking of classified info. Not only that but they also showed them the original documents in question which were folded and indicated that they had been mailed. Even better than that, the documents had their microdot identification markings on them which pinpointed when and which printer the documents had been printed on.

Unfortunately this is a case of a good citizen thinking they were doing something good without thinking about the consequences of their actions and I'm not talking about the repercussions they might face themselves.

pretty neat how they've been embedding data in printouts (especially in secure areas) for a long time

Really stupid by the paper to show the documents to nsa people. Really stupid. There are many ways to track down people who leak even based on content alone.

I remember hearing about a mechanism to prevent leaks where slightly different versions of memos would be sent out (with a word or two changed here or there that would not change the meaning or content of the memo: ie changing a "which" to "that" or changing a it's to it. Or adding a small sentence here or there) and by the version provided in a leak you would know the leakers rapidly due to the specific small change present in the leaked document. You can never show the original to a company. You can only at best show a modified version. Really bad job by the intercept. They are now toast as no one will ever share a leak with then.

you can't just become a citizen unless you actually qualify, which takes a long time, as in years.

your so called point is bullshit.

So, how does it feel to be on the same side of the election as Russian intelligence services, anyway?

Well it seems the lefts love of Reality Winner means you are on the side of the Russian intelligence services. All this airhead did was let the Russians know that our intelligence service was on to what they were doing. She will spend her youth in prison for nothing.

The hacking & timely release of DNC & Podesta emails didn't give fresh ammo to the Trump team, the right wing noise machine & concern trolls for Bernie?

Or do you simply deny that to be the work of the Russians?

Yea!!!! let's continue to be oblivious to the fact that Hillary colluded with the DNC to rig the primaries in her favor. Bernie Sanders would have taken those critical states that Hillary lost to trump. Now orange man rules you all.

Journalism 101--when confronted with an alleged leaked report, you always reach out through official channels for verification, even if all you expect is "no comment." Stupidity here is on the part of the leaker, both for leaking in the first place, and then not taking steps to protect herself when knowingly doing something illegal. Snowden must be double face-palming over this shit.

That's what's so hilarious about all this historically illiterate Russia hysteria. Even assuming their wild proclamations are 100% correct, the end result was that voters were exposed to the fact that Hillary was a completely corrupt shop-worn hack who had no business being President.

Resist. Persist... Plot Twist.

The 25-year-old worked as a contractor for the government and is accused of giving classified information from the National Security Agency to an online news outlet.

She entered a not-guilty plea. The judge denied bond.

Prosecutors said a phone call to her sister expressed Winner’s confidence in how to play the court during her bond hearing.

“I’m pretty, white and cute,” she allegedly told her sister. Prosecutors said Winner told her sister she would braid her hair and cry in court.

Prosecutors also said while Winner was serving in the Air Force she put a removable thumb drive into a top-secret computer. The government testified that it has no idea where that drive is now.

She stole classified material, an actual document, and then put it in an envelope and mailed it. I am pretty sure that when you work for the NSA they make you sign a non-disclosure document. I think not only should she be in jail, but they should bar this company from all future government contracts, and throw the head of the company in jail also.

Some people work for the government to protect the citizens of the USA from harm and some people work to defend their idealogy and their propaganda, which makes you a traitor.
