My problem is that I don't trust the current incarnation of dems. There's noting hypocritical about that. You don't trust reps either, so we're even. But to this case in point, if this had come to light under the Obama admin and it was adequately explained, I'd be ok with it in spite of my general suspicions. Case in point, I wasn't one of the people that freaked out over the Jade Helm thing, even though the scenario still bugged me at a minor level. In short, I have a healthy distrust of our government regardless of who's in change.

I have less problem with what you said vs what ivy said. The impetus for my initial response was the hypocrisy accusation. I'm by no means anywhere near perfect, but I do try to be consistent in how I evaluate things.

Oh no, I clearly grasp the difference and we both seem to support effective application of background checks. The best part of your response, however, is that you freely admit that this very same enforcement would be a problem for you if there was a democrat in charge, because you seem to assume that they are going to "goose the database" because that's what your handlers have been pushing into your conservative skull for decades now.
