I've been suffering from sort of depression for years now..
Someone (a consultant) told me that I could be on the way to hypochrondria if I do something right now.
At the moment, I don't want to exist in this world.. but I don't want to die either.. I just don't know what to do.. because there is nothing I can do about it.
I hate parents for bringing me to this world and control my pathetic life.
Now, I really don't care about nothing.
I don't feel happiness or sadness, I don't talk or laugh as much as I used to. Oh well..

Seek professional help. And disregard what ANYONE HERE SAYS to the contrary, no one here is able to psychoanalyze your situation.

Seep help, you will feel better, we've all been there at some point in our lives. But suicide is NOT worth it.

Is there anything in your life that is causing you to go into this depression? School? Job? Friends? Pressure to excel in life?

Number one is to seek professional help. No one here is an expert so our advice is usually based on what has worked for us in the past. I too have been depressed and got out of it by doing thing that make me feel good. I took up computers almost full time and now it's what I do for a living. If you feel the need, spill your guts on what's troubling you here. Yea people are usually sarcastic and stuff but when it comes down to it, it's one big happy family. People here has shared illness, death, achevivement, just about everything.

The above is the advice that many around here should heed. Damn, people, this is a BBS on the internet, full of people you've never met, and never will meet.

TALK TO REAL LIFE FRIENDS AND FAMILY.

Agree with Soybomb. Also, make sure the MD checks at least the basic hormones (especially T3, T4, TSH from the thyroid gland). If these are OK, and cortisol, you should be a good candidate for Prozac therapy (or any of the newer, probably even "nicer", drugs). To me your "dullness" seems like a typical depression, which should with some luck be reversible with about 6 months of antidepressive drug treatment. These drugs are not addictive. By the way, not even having the strength/will to commit suicide is a typical sign of pure depression - actually, there is an elevated risk of suicide in the first 2-3 weeks after starting the therapy because the patients suddenly get the strength to kill themselves (but still aren't cured from their depression). Also, some physical exercise is always good, as is trying to quit smoking after the depression has been treated (if you smoke, that is...).

Anyway, changing doctor sounds like a good idea. Depression should IMNSHO be treated aggressively in young people. Good luck!

Addition (reply to Russ):

<< no one here is able to psychoanalyze your situation >>

Depression shouldn't be psychoanalyzed - it should be cured. But don't tell Freud...

BlueScreenVW,

Actually, that wasn't my statement; it was Elemental007's. I repeated it to make sure that it was read.

Elemental007,

In real life, Shux (Sean) isn't really an asshole.

Russ: sorry! It's definitely good advice too, so I don't disagree at all... Just saw an opportunity to tease some freudianists...

Bad choice of words. My bad. But in order to cute depression would one not have to understand the mindset a patient is in to understand what was wrong and causing them to feel that they were not worth existance?

Remember he said he did NOT want to commit suicide, just that he felt that he didnt' want to exist.

Elemental007: Well, you could of course try to talk people out of a depression, and you definitely should find out if there's are real cause of their state of mind (even a somatic doctor should, that is). But, generally, talking simply isn't enough. There's very much recent evidence that genuine depression is a well-defined unbalance in the brain's dopamine/norepinephrine signaling system, and also that ordinary psychotherapy has a very low cure-rate. Also, recent drugs have so mild side effects that they should be the first, not the last, choice of therapy (once one has made sure that the depression is genuine, that is, persistent). To quote you: "understand what was wrong...". What's wrong is the unbalance of chemicals in the brain (not the patients childhood, penis envy, oidipus complex or similar). I'm almost rude here, but you simply have to be very explicit in these matters: we know what's wrong, and no matter what caused it it's curable - so cure it then!
