Fellowes 5-Button Optical for $5 (clearance)
or search for item #20656345
This is probably B&M and YMMV, but it's darn cheap for a 5-button optical that has USB and PS/2. Looks like it is "ergonomically shaped" for right-handers only, sorry lefties. I've not used this mouse, so can't comment on quality or functionality. I'm going to try to pick one up though and see how it compares for playing UT.
Edit: Some more links, for visual reference here . Hmm, this link indicates that the shape is symmetrical, suitable for both right- and left-handers. The picture on the OM site doesn't look quite that way to me though. Looks like the sides are pure-vertical, which will be good for my gaming style, better than my current optical. Still researching the DPI issue. I found the official catalog specs here. No mention of DPI or optical scanning rate at all. Looks like it's probably not quite a "gaming mouse".
Compare to Buy.com, at $20.
More cheap optical mice at OM
Microsoft Basic Optical Mouse for $10 (after $5 IR)
Fellowes Cordless 5-button Optical Mouse for $14 (clearance)
Logitech MX500 Optical Mouse for $20 (clearance) (DEAD)
Hmm, I had trouble viewing both the MX500/MX700 last night, and now today, they don't show up on the OM site at all! Looks like they pulled the products entirely, that's really too bad, I was hoping to get a PM at WalMart or Sears if they were sold out at my local OM.
