I had it described to me this way one time. Female drivers have less skill and tend to do stupid things like hit stationary objects (parked cars, light poles, garage doors ) back-up into ditches, etc... But men, though they generally have more skill, tend to drive at the edge or above those skills and get themselves into more catastrophic accidents (high speed crashes). Don't know if that is true, but it seems reasonable and fits most women I know. Seems like most of the married men I have worked with have complained at one point or another about their wives hitting their other car in the driveway, hitting their mailbox, etc... stupid stuff.

I got that explaination as well... supposedly girls just wreck their own cars most of the time and nobody gets hurt, while men get into more lethal accidents.

sadly i have done the driving away with teh pipe in the tank..

not once but twice.. first time it came out of the tank .. send time i stopped as soon as i started to move.

needless to say i changed my routine for gassing up .. so that shouldnt happen again.

Generalizations are never 100% true - not even close. Not all Jews are good with money, not all black men are hung like horses, and not all cell users in a car are bad drivers. I bet fiddling with the radio causes just as many accidents - should we outlaw radios in cars too? Seriously - get a clue :roll:

The majority of people should not talk on a cell phone while driving (hands free makes it a bit better). Talking on the phone diverts more attention away from driving than many other activities, and if you're already an iffy driver, then that just means trouble. Besides that, having to hold the phone up to your ear causes a whole mess of new problems (makes it more difficult to turn and check your blind spot, you have one less free hand to control the wheel, etc.).

Edit: Oh, and by the way...at UGA, the male drivers are actually 100x worse than the female drivers. It's astounding how bad some of those people are.
