I just recently flashed my bios to the latest version. Ever since then when the computer goes to sleep, it will not wake up. All the fans and everything come on but Windows never resumes. Before it would start up instantly.

I find this kind of strange, to get it running again, I have to shut it down and turn it back on. It goes through the boot stages and acts as if it just woke up. I still have to click my logo for Windows to open.

I had most everything at stock except for some settings like AHCI, speedstep, etc. All the overclock settings were at stock.

Did the new BIOS fix somthing that was not working correctly? If not you much just be better off going back to that older one. If it did though what you can do is remove the CMOS battery ( I usually do for several hrs just my preference.) and hold down the power button for about a minute to remove all power for the capacitors. Replace battery and load your settings into the BIOS and see how that works.

If that is still giving you issues you can always reflash the BIOS but remember to be at default settings when flashing or even do the procedure as I mentioned above.

I have been having issues although I don't know if they were bios related. I just wanted to rule that out.

Does every single bios setting need to be at the default setting?

I would go into the BIOS and reset to Optimized Defaults. Then re-setup your setttings. After flashing a new BIOS, things can go wonky if you don't reset the CMOS settings.

It's just probably something different a Wake Up feature that your BIOS had it Enabled by default and the new BIOS has it Disabled by default. Or just need to go in the BIOS and try different settings, especially the Wake Up option S1, S3, Video etc....

I did what Virtual Larry said and it's coming out of sleep just fine now. No I did not update to a beta bios.

I tried changing it to a different wake option and then changing it back to S3 and did not work.

This is not an issue with the bios but when it comes out of sleep, sometimes the internet does not work or it is pretty slow. It still shows it is connected in the taskbar. I just have to reconnect the cable and it is good to go. Is that a common thing to happen? Is there a way to stop it?
