OK I got this board for my parents, I installed it, got into the bios the first time with all drives disconnected, set up the bios, shutdown, connected the drives then turned back on. now the only code the LED displays is FF and it won't even post.

Any ideas or am I screwed here?

RMA...

I had the exact same problem.. I did call EPoX tech support and they sent me a new BIOS chip in the mail for free.. but I already had my new MB by the time I got the chip.

My 2nd 8RDA has been rock solid.

sounds like you made big mistake!

this is what I always do, I wait till it had rebooted safely then powered down.

For future reference, FF does not mean bad proc, it actually means nothing bad. That's what it displays when it's running properly.

FF is ther highest test code that can be displayed. That means all the tests were run. If it doesn't boot it is probably the MB. Remove the battery, use the jumper that shorts out the power to the bios (reset the bios), let it sit a minute, replace the battery, put only the video card and memory in, nothing else and see if it boots.

If not, RMA time, though you could try the Bios chip route if they would send you one.
