Got a free 8 foot boat last night that came with a trolling motor and battery. Anyways, I noticed it has a few cracks and a some chips along the bottom outside edges. I want to fix it myself but I stopped a local boat shop anyways to get a price on what it might cost to repair but it was way too much. The shop said I could put new fiberglass stuff down or just leave it the way it is and use something called Gluvit which I guess is a water sealer or something.
I don't want to spend too much to fix the few cracks and chips but I want to do it right. I would also like to give it a new paint job if it doesn't cost too much. At one time I just thinking of using bed liner on the bottom but the boat shop said it wouldn't be a good idea. Don't know why.
Any suggestions on what products I should use or some tips so I don't screw it up too much.
