Anyone playing it?

I just got it, normally an NHL head but wanted to get into it.

Trying to play ranked online matches but they seem to be in the "SEASON" mode. (PS3)

I am having trouble launching it each time as it gets stuck on the mini game where you have a player vs goalie, and doesn't load the match (even if you wait 10 mins). This happened twice. So far I have played one real match.

Is it possible for the view to look more like FIFA 12?

I just want to quickly play online and ranked! wish they made that faster/quicker to get into a match

Yeah the main menu screen is kinda laggy... I never get stuck in the mini games. matches load in like 20 secs for me. Great though.. a lot of things to do (offline and online).. much better than Madden

I'm quite tempted to get it! I switched from NHL to FIFA last year, and probably won't go back to NHL. FIFA is super fun. Haven't tried 13 yet, but watched some guys on twitch.tv and the menus and stuff look pretty different.
My first and only online team game was one of those big ones where every single player was a person online. I ended up on defense(I still don't know the proper terminology) and kicked a full field length high lob to our striker who scored the game winner and then in extra time I took a ball off my face on our goal line to save the game tying goal. That was the funnest online sports experience I ever had.

I still think NHL has a much stronger pace to it, quicker to get into a game and play and more end-to-end play

I really got FIFA just to expand and have more fun in other games too. I was always the NHL guy and my cousin had FIFA so I got it to be able to play together and still compete

I picked it up over the weekend, first FIFA upgrade in a few years so I'm still getting used to a lot of the changes that have been made since 10. I'm really getting into the Ultimate Team mode right now.

I just got it this past weekend and it is fantastic! I haven't played any FIFA games since college when we'd play the crap out of the Genesis version. I'm really impressed with it and trying to get into the ultimate team stuff which is pretty cool so far. I have the PS3 version as well. PSN: cpd315

I am having a blast with the FUT mode so far. I started off breezing through the Div 5 offline season and then made way too big of a jump up to the toughest Div 4 Season without realizing it. Ended up escaping relegation on the last match with my hodgepodge squad but that mistake set me back some coins.

I retooled my team to earn back some coins and grow my team chemistry; I now have a pretty decent bronze squad of MLS players (pretty good value it seems, lots of choices in the bronze level) and am trying to get through the bronze level online tournament.

My biggest mistake was overlooking the importance of a really high team chemistry. It really pays to stick with a single league or nationality for the best results.

Picked it up today at Best Buy with a gift card I got for my b-day. Pretty fun so far, though I feel like a complete newb against the computer. Not really looking forward to playing against real players. My biggest gripe is confusion on playing league games. Is there anyone to do an MLS season offline? I want something similar to the offline franchise mode in Madden.

I'm playing in career mode as player and made me a midfielder for the Houston Dynamos. I'm playing through a season of theirs right now. I'm also playing some with FUT. I'm not familiar with franchise mode in Madden, but my Dynamos are in the MLS 2012 season right now. I've played up through May 2012 currently.

That's my midfielder (my son LOL who plays midfield IRL U13) anyway doing a nice juke and score on Columbus Crew just a few minutes ago.

Yes, manager career mode is what you're looking for. You run the franchise and play the games normally.

Player career (at least in 10, haven't tried it in 13 yet) has you creating or choosing an existing player and using that player only throughout a career. The management of the franchise is limited to selecting your lineups once you become team captain.

BTW, the Online Pass is the most BS thing that EA has created. I had a ton of problems getting it to work which culminated with a 30 minute call to their support. Nothing like jumping through a ton of hoops to play a game on a console.

I have a 360, but my son plays on it all the time so I bought me a PS3. I've got FIFA for PS3. This new patch is pissing me off though. I'm getting EA server disconnects in every FUT match I play and burning through my contracts with no way to make coins because the server disconnects. I'm pretty mad over it right now.

I'm also having a lot of disconnect problems from the EA servers while doing FUT. I've set it aside for now and started on Borderlands 2.

I can't answer your first question, but I have a 360 and have had no performance issues. If your friends play then get what they have.

Most definitely get 13, not 12.

Most definitely get Fifa, not Pro Evo.

I have it for PS3. I'm not getting any disconnects anymore, so latest update must have fixed it. I say definitely get it on whatever your friends play. I pretty much play solo, so my PS3 is preferred for games only I play. My son plays 360 and I don't want to compete with him for console time

I'm not a soccer guy at all, but FIFA is hands down the best sports game on the console. I had a NAT issues when it first launched, but I fixed that and everything is flawless now.
