I know we don't have a lot of FIFA players on this forum, but some of us do play it.

Just announced, FIFA 16 will feature, for the first time, women's soccer! Can't say I'm super excited, but I suppose some people are.

I'm far more excited about the FUT market balances hopefully not being awful this year.

I've never been really good at FIFA games--I never played soccer IRL or watched many matches, so a lot of the concepts and strategies are foreign to me.

That said, I found that earning coins in FUT was a grind. Took forever for me to earn enough coins for a pack since I could only compete on the easier difficulty levels. I really liked the concept though.

I look forward to FIFA releases pretty much every year. Had a lot of fun with '14 and '15 with a friend of mine and will very likely be buying '16. The addition of the women's teams is great, though I don't know how much I'll play with them (I typically stick to my Seattle Sounders or my FUT team). I wonder if EA will allow female players on a FUT team.

Unless the women are "skilled up" to meet the men, I don't think they will do much in FUT. Like, they will all be bronze and silver.

I almost have the perfect FUT team now though, so I am actually kind of sad Fifa 15 is almost over. =(

Yeah, but I've scored a fair number of goals with bronze and silver FUT players. I'd want to be able to at least try it.

FIFA 14 was ok, I ended up going back to FIFA 14 after buying FIFA 15 and dumping it weeks later then moved onto PES 15 when it came out which is waaaaaaaay better this time around, FIFA 15 is awful and with how EA has been lately I don't think 16 is going to be any better. Now Konami just needs to make the next PES pretty like PES 13.

Here it is my fifa story guys:
Being playing Fifa a lot on PS3 and I was really disappointed about Fifa 15 because I haven't seen any major changes from 14 to 15.

Then I bought PS4 and I was shocked about the differences and changes and I liked.
When 16 will be I bet that I won't be impressed because there will be no major changes and basically will be the same game with new players.

It seems that EA forgot to:
- Upgrade single player mode in order to make it more interactive
- Really visual changes that even a 4 year old can notice them (I'm sick of changes like: improved the way players react when is their birthday and so on)
- Fix collision bugs

IIRC, it was pretty well-known that Fifa 15 for last gen (PS3/Xbox360) was a lazy reskin of Fifa 14 with updated rosters but nothing else, whereas Fifa 15 for current gen (PS4/XB1) was the "true" new game with updated graphics, physics, etc.

I think it was Fifa 15 on last gen was just to placate the people who hadn't upgraded yet. Now, I had Fifa 14 on Xbox One, so I certainly had 15 on it as well and can't really comment.

As far as PES 15, the little I played of it it was not favorable to Fifa 15 and the Ultimate Team component had no market place (so, I would never get the players I actually want, because I have no loot luck whatsoever in any game). It also looked terrible. Look at the Cristiano Ronaldo videos on youtube. He has a badonkadonk.

Fifa does need to revamp the single player portions. The create a player is terrible and you max out at like 92 anyway, which is stupid. In the other EA games (at least, in Madden), you upgrade stats based on currency earned through performance. In one season as a RB, I went from like 70 to 85 or so. They also give you things like "force starter" option that is missing from Fifa. If I am able to pick which team I am to be on, sitting on the bench for 5 seasons just wastes my time in even playing.

I think FUT will be pretty good in Fifa 16 though. The changes EA has made were terrible for the already ridiculously broken market in Fifa 15, but going forward in a fresh system, it will be good.

Let's see the final product and not judge by a trailer.

I saw the E3 conference and in my opinion EA didn't present too much for Fifa 16. I think that they showed just 4-5 features and that is all. I think that each version of Fifa it should be a patch or DLC for previous version.

It failed to surprise me.

The games play very differently between versions. Just like every other EA sports game. People who think it is just a patch and a roster update obviously don't play them.

Even then, EA knows they don't really have to show off much for FIFA. The people who play it will buy it, regardless of what they show off.

I play Fifa since Fifa 2000, and you are right I don't play FIFA, I just buy them to keep them as trophies....

Paying 49.99 euros for a game that is launched each year and receive new animations and some modifications to gameplay isn't quite nice and I think that the gamers have the right to ask for more. I doubt that each year they start writing the game from 0 and not use the last year source code...

With each new type of game play EA has added some situations that can be exploited over and over again to score goals. In my opinion they should try to make a gameplay that won't allow the user to use that situation over and over again.

Again, spoken like someone who has never played a Fifa game. We have had these same arguments every year in Madden as well, with little to no real acknowledgement as to what isn't "different" enough.

So, while that is true (and is in pretty much every game), the initial responses I've been reading are great in terms of balance. Pace abuse is probably gone. Here is a good article I just read about it. Honestly, it sounds great. http://news.futhead.com/posts/fifa-16/31615-fifa-16-gameplay-impressions

I played FUT on my PS3 with Fifa 14 and had constant disconnects in matches and thought it was a waste of my time because of it. I thought it was EA's ploy to get me to buy packs since it wouldn't let me complete matches for the disconnects. I have PS4 and X1 now, have they fixed their server issues with FIFA 15 on the new hardware? Are the servers more stable now? I'm looking at getting back in with FIFA 16..but not if the server issues are still happening.

I have Fifa 15 on Xbox One and don't have any issues outside of my crappy internet (which is crappy). It gets kind of dicey if there are special packs and a IF Ronaldo or something, but that is only in the buying packs area. The gameplay is as stable as both players connections. And, take into account Fifa 14 and especially Fifa 15 on previous gen were kind of just placate games, as the focus was the next gen.

Nice article detailing some of the new or improved features in career mode. I certainly hope I don't have to train every player to get them better now though. I would hate for someone like Youri Tielemans to not go up 10+ overall the first season I have him. =(
I remember in NHL 11 or so you could condition players by assigning "training" to specific skills (hands, skating, shooting, passing, etc) and they improve over a period of time. Or it could be like Madden 15's skill training which is a little time consuming.

Currently, Fifa 15 "training" just happens behind the scenes during the week. It is good for players with the "potential to be special" trait, as they go up fairly regularly (Tielemans, my example player, for instance goes up from a 74 to an 84 in the first full season of it). Since, I'm the type of guy that gets a crappy team and fills it with 17-19 year old cheap players and grows them, only training 5 per week is going to suck. =( I want to train 11+ per week.
