Fifa 17

Anyone getting it this year? It is using the Frostbite engine, so it should look and (hopefully) feel a bit better than last year. Demo releasing tonight 9PM PST is the rumors.

I will be, but only because I can trade in Fifa 16 to Best Buy and, with my GCU, get Fifa 17 for around $20. I'm not terribly excited, but I'll play it. I really wish the story mode allowed me to play a character I create to play for Liverpool or something. %@&* Manchester United!

The story mode will allow you to pick any PL team I think with that "The Journey" mode. Though, you only get to play as their created guy. You can still do single player career and pick any team you want.

I'm going to fire the PC demo up tonight and see if it is worth giving up my Xbox exclusive Legends in FUT to be master race (which supports 21:9!!).

In the demo, it's only Man U, but they've said in the real game you can pick other clubs. And, since every PL manager is game faced in, I'd imagine it is just swapping them out and the stadiums, teammates, etc. The story you get in the demo is incredibly silly. "Oh, guy and your friend. You're starting for Man U with Zlatan on the bench against Chelsea and then at 75 minutes, other nobody striker coming on and not Zlatan."

After a little bit of time with the demo, it feels more fluid than 16. That could just be because it plays faster and the new passing is awesome. Driven passes and through balls are great. It's worth checking out, at least, the free demo.

Been playing PC demo version, AI is left something to be desired but otherwise the game feels improved with the Frostbite engine but there's a few things that reminds me far too much of FIFA 15 and I hated FIFA 15 (and 16). I haven't picked up PES 2017 yet but I'm leaning closer to that although I'll wait until FIFA 17 release to see what EA does to it (leave it alone or butcher it like they always do).

There is a PES 2017 demo out, if you want to check it. It is for console only. Unfortunately, PES on PC is the old gen engine. PES always feels really sluggish to me. And the player models look off. Faces are uncanny valley strange and everyone looks too wide. Like they were squished a foot shorter than they should be.

I was able to play a full game via Share Play with my buddy that bought PES 17. I love the commentary duo and PES 17 feels pretty good to me. If I could have traded in Fifa 16 for PES, I might have gone that route, but instead I'll be getting Fifa 17.

PC version isn't worth it, although I still have and play PES 2015 on PC. PS4 version would be the best choice for PES due to options files and updated look and engine, Konami just doesn't seem to care enough about PC platform.

I thought there was a way to do option files on the Xbox, you just needed a usb to load them from. If that isn't the case, I will probably skip PES altogether. No PS4 here.

Anyone that got the demo patch on XB1 have any feedback? People are saying hte game's pace was sped up which is what most of us doesn't want.

I did my 10 hours of EA Access early trial and it feels really good so far. I'm sure after a thousand games I'll be only complaints like most FIFA games, but it feels most like 15 than 16, which is good IMO. The Journey is decent so far (it quits after you get loaned and I'm hearing it is around 16 hours, one season which isn't bad for single player FIFA)

I know most you don't care, but Fifa 17 is in a pretty awful state ATM. I don't know if it just bad programming (state management and tracking is terrible, but that is the nature of the beast when it comes to runnable on consoles) or some kind of bug, but there is what feels like input lag on consoles ATM. I have like 100 or so games in so far and the demo felt more responsive. The game "feels" fast, but playing slow is so satisfying.
