I've got the hard drive hooked up to my own computer on the second ide channel, so nothing is running in the background to hide any files. It's a 60gb drive, partition is 51gb. All I can see is ~15gb in files (including recycle bin & system volume information folder), but the drive says there are ~47gb of files. Ran chkdsk, fixed some things, didn't change the free space number.
What could I be missing here?
Update: While doing a full file copy to another drive, I came across a couple folders that were inaccessible. So I gave myself access to them. No tojans or viruses inside, but I'll just say I really, really wish I were not inquisitive trying to figure this out... :Q
The computer was so bad, though, when XP loads up and 15 listings of svchost.exe are running... not good.
