Hey guys, I was hoping someone on the boards could help me with a problem we have out our school. We run a modest school network of about 400 machines, which can be access at any given time by almost a population of 1,400 students. And inbetween classes and such, we run into problems like files/folders being deleted by people that are not the owner. We set permissions accordingly, but can't set too high of restrictions because otherwise a person would be confined to only one computer to be able to do their work, and thats not always possible. So I was wondering if anybody knew of a way to setup a logging of what files/folders get deleted, just telling us at what time, the date, and what computer name it was. This would help in finding out who thinks deleting peoples files is a game and less work for us on having to constantly restore files from backup tapes. Thanks.
