I wonder if RN's can fall asleep on the job and still make money. :hmm:
I'd imagine you could get away with it on night shift. Just make sure you can hear the bell or w/e if a patient hits the help button. Though I guess there might be routine stuff that needs to be done too, but most of that probably happens in the day.
There is something eerie about being in a hospital at night though. Normally when you go to a hospital you are used to seeing people, nurses etc around, but at night when it's closed to the public, it's mostly dark and there's no activity. It's even more interesting during a power outage when half the hospital is on generator and the other half is off. (staggered throughout the building not literally half). Something about the empty halls and flickering lights and only some of them being on. That's the night I found out the core network was not plugged into a UPS.
