Actually, you are. You came in way too late on the joke.

All right sawg:

Why would you want to put lyrics out ad JUST listen to their music?

" If there were no rewards to reap
" No loving embrace to see me through
" This tedious path I've chosen here
" I surely would have walked away by now"

I saw TOOL during the last tour, in the NCRC in Sunrise. One of the top 5 best concerts I have ever seen.

I would not see a Filter concert if you paid me--musical hacks in comparison.

<< they cant sing about anything but dark evil stuff, >>

Sigh. Some people just don't get it. Have you actually read the lyrics? Have you been to any of their shows? Although many of Tool's fans think of them as just another heavy metal band, Maynard is really reaching out to the people who are listening in his lyrics. They are catarthic and cleansing. They create an atmosphere of release and, I quote, "urge you to take this feeling... and in the coming weeks, use it to create something positive in yourself."

When was the last time Patrick in Filter sang about something that had any meaning at all? (Hidden or otherwise). When was the last time he sang about some that wasn't dark? At least if you strip out a layer or two, Tool is ultimately an uplifting band. There is nothing to strip away with Filter. It's pointless chest-beating. "I'm so tough." "I'm so angry." They really have nothing to say.

I own and have analysed every album by both bands. Filter rocks. But that's all they do.

Filter's Short Bus album sucks, imho, while Title of Record is one of the best albums I've ever heard. And I've listened to a lot of rock in my 50+ years. Tool is great; haven't listened in awhile tho- will pop some cds in tomorrow.

just so no one makes my mistake again:

it appears as though ameesh has been, er, "tampering" with the poll as it goes along. so don't get all mad like i did.

<< As much as I love TooL, they can't beat a good Phish jam session. >>

have you heard Trey's new band Oysterhead? It's great. He teamed up with Les Claypool from Primus and Stewart Copeland from The Police. Some good stuff. Check it out.

oh my this is outrageous...the two bands are not in the same league or genre, how can they even be compared? not to mention, how is Tool even losing, from those who voted?

Tool essentially kicks any band's act out there nowadays. if you've _ever_ seen Filter live, you'll know they sound like crap outside of the studio, away from their synths and vocal tuners
