I went to the one in Detroit last night and it wasn't anywhere close to being full. Were all of them like that?

I was at the one in Boston, and that was full, but they used a smaller theater.

New York was really crowded, but didn't seem like it at first. I got there at around 7:30 and waited for ~40 mins, and then the line dissapated. Someone yelled that the showing was full and to email that address for free tickets. Whether or not these are just tickets for the movie in its post-wednesday showings or preview tickets (which is highly unlikely) I dont know. Wired still sucks.

yeah, the Detroit one wasn't near full.....great to see a bunch of people like me sitting around. There was a guy that had a Wired bag, and I was hoping we'd get more free stuff, but I suppose a movie and magazine'll suffice. ^_^

I got in the nyc one yesterday. Got there 2 hours early! Cool graphics, but it wasn't as good as I had hoped it would be. My sister told me that Fox News (channel 5 in NYC) said today that you could pick up free screening tickets at their studio. Doesn't the movie officially open on Wednesday?

even got there in ample time.

They had the LA one at the wrong address. When I got redirected I got stuck in the Beverly Center elevator.

The whole situation sucked.

We went to the screening in San Francisco last night. While we were lucky that we got there early, I felt bad for the other 150 or so people in line. We were in the first group of 50 or so and when we walked into the theatre it was already almost completely full of Wired employees. Only the first two rows were available. Nobody at the theatre told the people waiting in line that there wasn't a chance they were going to get in. The movie was good, but I'll need to see it again to fully appreciate the graphics, since I was sitting on the front row looking straight up at the screen. :frown:

My story is the same as Tuck's. We were #60 in line. (Had to get there way early to get that spot), but when we got in the theatre, only the front rows were available! sucked. :disgust:

They should've told us the whole theater would be filled with "VIPs". Anyway, the movie was great, but I'm going to have to check it out again (from a good seat) to fully appreciate the graphics.

I was at the SF theather also. Got there two hours early with my wife, and thought I was an idiot for being there early and no one in line. But the line picked up during the last hour before they let people in. But... they started letting everyone in with vip tickets and so by the time we got in the theater was already full, and they only let in ~50 people. Now I'm glad I was there early. The graphics on the movie was awesome, and I'll probably pick up the dvd to figure things out.

Saw it at Detroit.
It was great graphics. Shocked me.
Though my personal opinion is that he really needed the normal 40 hours found in a FF game to truly tell the story. It seemed like a great story that got cut down to less than 2 hours. Though this may just be me, i'm personally a fan of hte fantasy FF's.

Yeah, the LA showing was packed too, there was very little room after all the vips got in, but still, I got a pretty good seat!

Gezz! I am lucky I forgot about it for the SF screening. Otherwise, I will be waiting for nothing.

Saw it in Chicago last night. The theater was about 3/4 full. It was a 'normal' multi-plex theater, so I would say there were about 150-200 people there. Two rows were set aside for 'VIPs', but only a handful showed up.

The movie was okay. Not great, not bad.

The CGI is definitely cutting edge. Given the rate technology advances this is what computer games will probably look like in less then ten years.

The story is the typical 'epic' where a handful of individuals, who despite the odds, save the world through their own sacrifices. Now real suprises, and you 15 minutes into the film you can guess how it will end, give or take a couple of details.

LA was full but they didn't check the pass, so anyone could get into the queue.
Awesome graphics but the sound sucks. I'm wondering it's because of the screening theatre, does it has surround sound equipment?!

Sound Sucks? It was good in D-Town. Had the surround kickin'. pretty decent bass too, almost enough to shut up the bastard kid behind me talking to his other 14-yr-old friend.

speaking of the showing at SF.., they could have handled the screening a lot better?? only letting 50~ people in is BS!~!! there was about 300+ people waiting for the showing and those waited for 1.50 hours or less will not watch it?? why didn't they tell us earlier that if ur not the first 50 pepole in then u were't going in.. sh~t, even if we did all get in, we would of sat in the front of the theatre?? BS! i dont find no enjoyment in that at all... .., i am emailing them about this screw up right now...

yeah the beverly center ticket was misprinted, it should have said beverly connection. i know my way around LA and i saw that is was GCC theaters, and i know beverly center has Cineplex Odeon theathers and Beverly Connection was the one with GCC, so i went to Beverly Center and sure enough there was the long line. waited for around an hour, got me some jamba juice and got it. great movie, sorry to those who got rejected. =(

i went to the screening tuesday &quot;6PM&quot;... my sister got a voucher to get in over the weekend when she went out. NOT IN THE MAIL.

anyway, when i was headed out, people were giving out more vouchers...
