Final Fantasy X HD Announced at TGS

This game was just announced for PS3 and Vita per IGN. I enjoyed the original so this might be fun to get me to play through it again.

What do you guys think?

Are you confusing Sony with Microsoft (Halo 1)?

God of war 1 + 2 together was $40. That's a very fair price for 2 AAA titles.

Same with Ico + Shadow of the Colossus, also $40 list price.

It also supports the save sharing between the PS3 and Vita.

There were also a few other ports for the Vita announced such as Marvel vs. Capcom 3 (launch game). Square also has two new games coming out, and one is a launch title.

I'll be picking it up. I hated the story, but the battle system is great. I really like the sphere grid.

They'll prob just upscale it. Most of the cutscenes were in game though. Even though it's not the remake people were clamoring for, it's a hell of a lot easier job than remaking ff7.

I'm not sure how much rendering time it would require (or if it's possible because of legacy issues, etc), but I could see them re-rendering the FMVs.

I guess they could, but we've seen these kind of remakes all the time nowadays and no one has ever done that. It'd be a first.

I'm estatic about this. FFX is one of the best JRPG's ever made IMO. I hope it will be the International edition; Master Sphere Grid and Dark Aeons FTW.

Even though I like FFX, I no longer support that company. If they did nothing but remake their classics with better graphics, they'd be better for it.

What did they do that is causing you to no longer support them? Although many hated FFXIII, they've produced quite a few quality games...

Because it's easy to ignore. I really, REALLY like the sphere grid and battle system. A LOT.

Square ran out of good games in the late 90s. All they can do now is remake the old good stuff 3 times on a year on every platform. Hello Lucas is that you?

I don't really remember a ton about 10, so I might pick this up if I decide to get a Vita. Not that I have enough time for all of the games I already have. Can't believe it's been almost 10 years since it came out.

They announced a bit more mobile stuff at TGS as well. It turns out that they're releasing Chrono Trigger for iOS as well as Chaos Rings II and some game that's actually being developed by Epic. There was only a screenshot for the Epic game, but it certainly looked good. That's probably not much of a surprise given Infinity Blade.

They're also releasing what sounded like their own store for Android? Android users will finally see some of the iOS exclusive games like Final Fantasy 1 through 3, Chaos Rings, Secret of Mana, etc.

While I did play the heck out of Chaos Rings, I'll be the first to admit that it was a seriously flawed game in its implementation. The game has some of the worst monster tuning that I've seen. I mean, it's not uncommon to overpower creatures that you out-level, but when a level 100 hits me (a level 100) and deals 0 damage every time, I think something is a little broken. Also, providing all of those leveling opportunities (each stage is available in 10 level increments up to 100) and the final boss is only in the high 30s... not too smart. I think I two-shot the final boss.

All I remember is one of the main characters weapons was a dodge ball. Every time i used him i was thought if the bad guys could catch I'd be screwed.

I wish they would redo 9, vivi was the best.
