After doing a bit of investigating, it looks like he's still alive and just quit forum posting..

According to a post of his on (H)ardForum he has a World of Warcraft Character named Roczilla, a Tauren hunter on Maiev server.

Now, according to Warcraftrealms.com his character has been online plenty since his "disappearance", with guild change updates (something you have to log on WoW to do).


He even has current World of Warcraft forum posts like this



Now, unless he sold his World of Warcraft account before the "disappearance", it looks like he just quit Anandtech (and Hardforum it appears).

I guess for some people, WoW really is that hard to quit, even when faking your own internet death.


I don't have a WoW account, but maybe someone that does can log onto that server sometime and see if he's on or ask his guild members or something.


Anyways, that uncovers a bit of the mystery.

People are leaving ATOT pretty fast these days. I couldn't imagine how slow this place has become a couple of years back . Threads without replies in OT - unthinkable but true these days.

If this is the case, he should have asked the mods to have this whole thread deleted.

I am thinking this was just a 'fun' exit post. I had doubts to the whole string of events and how certain 'fixes' were not even considered considering the major supposed drama occuring.

Because people would follow him and hassle him about finishing the thread, possibly compounding his legal problems and at least becoming a pain in the ass.
