I did...lot's of blah my g/f is pregnant blah blah I have a family now blah blah c-section...

The police ESPECIALLY in NYC would have acted should their have been warrantable reason.

If this is real, seriously the guy should have vacanted once he knew someone was entering and pissing on things. SERIOUSLY would anyone who was looking to not be in a freaking war stay around after that?

I still have no idea why he keeps bringing up his g/f and baby though...only reason is sympathy as being single these actions would have the same weight.

This is to ensure he cannot trash the place and then sue you for damages.

Very good idea and make sure you have witnesses as well that can testify to the condition of the apartment when you left.

You neighbor was wrong to have dogs leashed out in front of an apartment though and if they did not have an agreement with the landlord for pets, in the wrong.

I also seriously can't see a place like this from your description of how you and your neighbors are going for $1475 yet alone $2000/month. I am sure you have escalated your rent.

Also if you did have you G/F and dogs on the lease it should be pretty straightforward...I am betting you didn't though. When pets are allowed, it doesn't mean you can just bring them in the dwelling...the landlord still has to be informed and often fees/deposits are required.

If your g/f was on the lease, then he can tell her anything he needs too. She is equally a tenant and equally responsible as any other tenant.

Sounds like you were really the one that started this war though. Being the cops won't do anything shows you are probably not being honest with us though either.

Lol. Aklemyst at it again, being a worthless troll interjecting his ideas where no one wants them.

Anyway, OP, I agree with max, make sure you take pics / movie of the place as you leave. My last landlord had a release clause in his lease that I took advantage of, and I did the same. He tried to tell me I owed him extra b/c I broke certain things in the apt, which I had proof I didn't. Send him the copy, and he stopped calling me.

Dude, I feel for you. If I were in your shoes, I would want to inflict some pain myself.

But in all honesty, I'm not sure we're getting the full story here.

I am not being a troll at all. I am questioning rather than the typical accepting something on blind faith and let's get it digg'd.

Facts:
1) if the g/f is a full time 'guest' they are a tenant. They should have been on the lease.

2) if they were on the lease then they could have taken the information that the rent was increased. If they were not on the lease then the LL was in the right to tell them they needed to leave.

3) Pets allowed <> pets on the lease. Almost all pet-friendly places don't allow for tenants to bring pets in without lease additions and fees/deposits made. Also many places have restrictions to number and size of pets. It's extremely doubtful his neighbor paid these fees and had two dogs on his lease.

4) I don't know of ANY pet friendly apartments that allow pets chained in front of them.

5) His stuff in the shed...obviously regardless of what the other tenants were doing, the LL didn't want the stuff there.

6) Police not getting involved even multiple times...HIGHLY UNLIKELY.

7) from first post OP mentioning getting violent with LL...CRAZY.

8) I am not sure why the g/f insists the mailman BRING her the mail, she should have provided id and saved the mailman a trip. I am willing to bet if the mailman said no...he may be the victim of a 'fist to face' incident.

I'd have moved out in July, right or wrong it makes no sense to go to war with someone that has keys and owns where you live.

I am so glad I never had to deal with this riff-raff.

Wow. I don't know how you contained yourself after the last incident. I would have lost it and taken that fucker of a landlord at gunpoint, pistol whipped him until he told me who assaulted me, and then gone after the other guy.

Yeah. Questioning, that's what I'd call what you're doing.

Depends on the lease. If the LL is getting the money, and has no "issues" with the gf (i.e. she's not breaking things, etc.) then may not need to be on the lease. If she did, it would say.

True, but the LL immediately showed true colors by yelling and screaming, instead of bring up said point.

Is that a does not equal? You make no sense. But again, depends on the lease. OP said pets were allowed on the lease, but has not mentioned having to pay a fee. After an assault I'm more inclined to believe the OP than the LL

Well bringing the mail up insures that it gets there, instead of being stolen, which is a federal crime.

I am willing to bet you like to kick puppies on the road and hit bunnies in your SUV.

well, alkemyst is being alkemst - so I'm not too bothered about that

Capt Caveman: Yes, I'm paying the original rent since he refused to put anything down in writing. He's been encashing my checks for the same.

GTaudiophile: This is my side of the story. My LL's side of the story - I'm not sure how he'd describe the events, but then - he'd have to explain hiring someone to do physical harm to me. In his defense (oh dear god) , yes - rents have risen in the area and $1475 for a 2 bedroom is cheap.

Not playing devil's advocate either...I have stated and usually always state the reason(s) I disagree. Much of ATOT is Neverland Ranch it seems much of the time.

On ALL leases you are to disclose any permanent residents. It has nothing to do with breaking things, it has to do with having a contract to remove them when needed. You do understand a lease isn't about damage and 'issues'

True, but the LL immediately showed true colors by yelling and screaming, instead of bring up said point.

No in reality it was the G/F being difficult day one...she should have been more than capable of relaying the increase in rent which the LL is entitled to parlay. This sounds like someone really not happy with a huge increase in rent and trying to make it the LL's fault.

I have not seen any lease that you did not have to disclose type and number of pets regardless if pets are allowed at the complex. Again most will also want a fee/deposit for each pet

I don't know of any provision I've ever seen that addresses this...

In most pet leases it will be stated that the pets must remain indoors or attended while on lease. It will usually have exclusions to allowing one to tie out animals in common areas.

You being >12 y.o....HIGHLY UNLIKELY

personal attack...you go...

What's crazier, OP getting violent when threatened or LL asking some dude to come kick the shit out of OP?

HEARSAY. OP though has been stating his desire for violence since first post.

Well bringing the mail up insures that it gets there, instead of being stolen, which is a federal crime.

I am willing to bet you like to kick puppies on the road and hit bunnies in your SUV.

The chick should have gotten the mail from the mail man then. She was obviously trying to make a scene with the landlord though.

I have no idea WTF you are talking about there except another personal attack...I am a pretty strong animal advocate here since I am a Zoology major.
