FINALLY finished my PC *pics*

the past month i've been building a new computer pretty much from scratch.. (all except soundcard, networkcard, cd-rw and dvd-rom)

lets start from the outside in..


case

kingmax 256mb @ pc2700

asus a7v333 w/ onboard usb2.0

alpha 8045 heatsink

amd xp 2000+

geforce 4 4200 w/ 3.5ns ram

all came to a total of under 500 bucks.. all off of newegg.com

im very happy

thanks, and i saved about 700+ bucks building it myself.. and thanks to neweggs freeshipping (on everything but the case) i saved a pretty penny...

well, I highly doubt a version of WindowsXP was included with your purchase from Newegg....along with all the other software you'd get from Dell.
Also doubt you have a 3 year warranty on your computer.

Many computer users barely know how to turn the computer on, much less buy the parts, put them together, troubleshoot (one of the hardest parts), and then install all the software needed. That is why people go with Dell/Gateway/Compaq.

Well, I used a dremel and cut it out then modded my own window in there! I did it on both cases and it came out great, threw a blue cold cathode inside and, well - I'll tell ya what...i'll post some pics in a day or two of them.

Just put my rig together yesterday. I Love It!!!
I used the Chieftec case Newegg had on sale a few weeks back. Its aluminum, has the window already in it, and a 400W ps.
Other components include:
Gigabyte 7VAX KT400 mobo (runs flawless!)
XP2000
512MB Kingston DDR333
GeForce4 MX440 64MB DDR
BenQ 16x/48x DVD drive
MSI Dragonwriter 48/16/48
Maxtor 20Gb 7200rpm

Runs smooth as silk! Was having a shut down problem, but a visit to the WindowsXP Update page took care of it.

yeah man, i've been passing the word around for this case... it's so cheap and it's the nicest design.. not all bulky with extra plastic everywhere and not all ricey... very simple and clean.. and my friend did the same thing.. cut the window out around it...

yep a little overclocking and im up to 4400.. my ram is already faster than SOME 128mb 4600's (but the visiontechs ram is like 2.7ns )
