With my previous motherboard (MSI kt7-266a pro) i was only able to hit 1.9ghz but just couldn't push 100mhz more out of it. system would just restart and not post.
with my new gigabyte 7N400-L1 nforce2 motherboard, i was finally able to hit 2ghz and run stable. Tested it by looping 3marks2001 a few times and playing several hours of fast action first person shooting games with no freezing. I'm sure I could probably squeeze 200mhz more out of it but i waiting to get a better hsf. my current is only a volcano 7 but i'm looking at the thermalright sk-7 but waiting til they're in stock from svc.com.
the new mb also increased my 3dmarks score from 9.8k to 11.8k. that's amazing...almost 2000 points difference.
