Finally I have zero backlight bleed and near 100% uniform black.

I just bought a BenQ GW2760HS and my <redacted> the image quality is <redacted> off the charts. Literally no backlight bleed and while the black uniformity isn't 100% it's actually not far away. Watching YouTube on this is marvelous.

Haven't had the chance to play games as it's not connected to my main rig yet but so far with general usage I haven't noticed a thing wrong with the response time. It will really have to be quite terrible in games for me to go back now. People can shove the Hz, A-Sync and PPI up their rear this IQ is the real deal and SHOULD be the minimum standard for any display.

Did I tell you there are no more distracting glowing corners? Like none at all? *faints*

VA is a great panel technology the thread, basically.

Overall the best panel tech outside of OLED imo, though it's one real weakness is response times. IPS users also might lament the viewing angles, but it's quite acceptable (and I have a TN, so no room to talk!).

Do you usually play in a pitch black room? I wouldn't notice any IPS glow unless I completely turn off all lights which ends up straining my eyes, and even then its hard to tell unless it was basically a black movie.

Yes I do and even when I keep the lights on I notice IPS glow.

Also there is no IPS monitor that has zero backlight bleed not one that I have seen.

Consider yourself very lucky OP. I have been trying to find an an IPS monitor without backlight bleed and apparently, they don't exist because they all have backlight bleed. I bought this AOC AG271QG monitor two weeks ago and the backlight bleed was horrible so they sent me another one. The backlight bleed sort of looks like this now:

should I keep it or return it and get another one or a different brand?

But what about the contrast shift for viewing straight on versus off angle? Makes VA worse than TN IMO. You get high contrast ratio, but the contrast shift which makes everything black is bothersome.

So I can give a detailed opinion now.

The matte coating on this is the best I have seen yet on a monitor. There is literally no reason for something stronger than this. I can finally look at the sun in games without being greeted by a sea of grain. There is still some grain mind you but it's really at the point of being acceptable.

While the uniformity of the black color is miles ahead of IPS the story isn't the same with some other colors. It's not a big deal but still something I noticed especially with grey color.

The contrast shift thing is again not really a big deal for me. Yes it would be better without it but head on it's not a concern. This monitor has really good shadow detail as it was reviewed to be. You are definitely sacrificing viewing angles compared to IPS there is no doubt about it.

However I feel these are all too minor issues for the absolute immaculate image quality you are getting. But wait there is an elephant in the room...

And that is the response time. This is clearly the worst part of the monitor and in my opinion the only real problem. There is ghosting in high contrast transitions. It seems every LCD has its own set of problems dealing with dark content you just have to choose your compromise.

I am personally sticking to VA as I am loving the IQ and if you don't go out of your way to look for it you can ignore ghosting. But I can totally see that there would be some people who won't be able to stand it.

I also have an IPS monitor which was actually a replacement for a previous one which had too much bleed but it wasn't much different so I gave up. It's combination of backlight bleed and IPS glow is a travesty lol.
