Finally left Sprint! How to comletely clear EVO 4G LTE to sell?

I finally made the move to T-Mobile. :biggrin: I would like to sell my HTC EVO 4G LTE since it's in great shape. I did a Reset through the options but it still lists my account name and phone number in settings.

Will this remain on there until someone else activates the phone? I called Sprint to see if there's a way to clear this info and all they said was do the Reset option, which I already did. If I sell this can someone else activate it with their own phone number?

I don't see a removable SIM, just a space to add a micro SD card.

Google HTC evo 4g LTE factory reset. There is no sim for that model, it's integrated. You can find in system info.

when i sold my android tablet, i found that the first thing you want to do is delete your facebook and google accounts in settings. also clear cache data on all browsers.

if you do not unlink those accounts, then ckearing cache in say facebook or gmail app will not work.

that or a factory reset.

verify on your google accounts (accounts.google.com) that the devices are not authorized to access your accounts

also, hard reset doesn't really erase the data on the device, anyone with data recovery software can try to find data.... do a hard erase, then get a program that securely erases your data (eg writes 0/1s multiple times on the device)

Factory reset is all you should need to do.

The remaining info is probably just the info Sprint uses to authenticate on their network. It will be reset when a buyer activates the phone on their own Sprint account.

If you wish, you should be able to manually edit the account info and replace it with all zeros (google it--the procedure is different depending on the phone), but unless that phone number is top secret, I don't think there's a compelling reason to.
