Heh mine too, I have a Hercules Ti200 @ 200/460 and after my latest CPU/MOBO upgrade it had gone from 6900 to 9300 in 3DMARK2001, not a bad little boost! There's no way i'm getting a new card until the graphics race starts to slow down and games are released that fully support all these new features. Graphics cards are at the stage where although the 9800 PRO and the 5900-Ultra kick ass in high-res with AA/AF, 6 months later they release something far more powerful as with the upcoming R400/NV40. While the 9800 PRO and 5900 are fantastic cards. I still see them 'chugging' when the next DX9 heavy games come out with all details (AA/AF) on. I'll buy a new card when i feel confident that it will run the latest games at full detail for the next 2 years, which to be honest i think will be a time in the not too distant future... Until then... GF3 Rules! LOL!

Sweet... I traded my Ti200 for a Ti4200... better... then I traded my Ti4200 for a 9700 Pro... better...

the Ti200 is still in my house, on my 3rd machine.. works great for my dad.. he only plays the odd game, and it runs good. I almost liked that card better than my 4200..

Richdog,

I'm of the same philosphy as you. Actually I was running on a Radeon 32DDR until a week ago. It was a kicka$$ card when it came out and was a big step up from the once vaunted Voodoo 3 3000 (my first H/P video card). I just now finally upgraded to a GeForce 4 ti-4200, and that, along with a new CPU platform really boosted the animation and quality of picture for my Never Winter Nights game.

But like you, I waited until a good solid card came down in price and then upgraded. I figure my ti-4200 should hold me over for a year and next summer I'll re-evaluate my needs. Even the DX9 games slated to come out reportedly don't rely heavily on DX9 features.

Amen! I loved my GF3 Ti 200. I don't really know why.... I guess b/c it was the first with VS and PS so the graphics were much improved. I have upgraded to a R9500 pro fairly recently to replace the old card. I like the new one but I still get that warm fuzzy feeling when I think back the the GF3! That bright red Gainward golden sample rocked! The ATI will cream the GF3 but it's just not the same.... Anyways....

I bought a Hercules Ti200, an expensive board 'reknowned' for it's overclocking, and after rteplacing the Blue Orb with a Crystal Orb I could only manage the piddling overclock of 400/460 which is Geforce3 stock speeds. As Cartman would say, "That sucks ass..." Heh i think everyone else in the world managed to get near Ti500 speeds except me! Anyway who cares my card does the job and im not changing it till something MOMENTOUS comes along in 6 months up to a year i imagine.

Yep, my MSI ti200 scored 11,000+ too but when trying to play blackhawk down@10x7 with high detail it was more choppy than Yan can cook with a cleaver I liked it and it served me well but when a game has to look like crap for me to play it at my monitor's native res it's time to upgrade so I did.

ECS k7s5a pro w/cheepoman bios
512mb ram @ ddr300mhz @ 2.5,2,2,6
Gainward geforce 3 ti200 64mb @ 240/540
nvidia det 44.03 set to quality

Highest i can get with it is around 9100.
