I just couldn't take it anymore. The urge to replace my E2180 finally overcame me today and I just bit the bullet and ordered an E8400 from newegg. After watching that amazing $80 E7200 deal slip through my fingers the other day, I just couldn't help myself.
I've chimed in on dozens of threads in recent weeks about how I'm interested in the E5200, the E7200/E7300, etc. I can imagine it got tedious seeing me repeat myself all the time.
So anyone order an E8400 from Newegg recently? Anyone care to guess what my chances are at getting an E0?
So in theory this new chip at stock will beat my OC'd E2180, eh? A "modest" overclock of 3.6 ghz would destroy it. I'm pretty excited to watch my encoding times drop.
Oh, I should mention. I also ordered this to go along with the new CPU:

Looks like I gave my system a serious shot in the arm. Anyone make a similar jump recently?
Final question - anyone want to buy a reliable E2180? How much does one of these puppies go for on the open market?
