OK, after several weeks of waiting for stuff to arrive I have put together the new computer.
Here are the specs:
1.333GHz Athlon Thunderbird C
256MB Corsair PC2100 SDRAM
256MB Crucial PC2100 SDRAM (both unbuffered)
Asus A7M266
Alpha PEP66-T Heatsink with Delta fan
Leadtek Winfast Geforce SDR 32 MB(1.5 years old)
3ware 6400 RAID IDE card(this things a monster)
4 IBM Deskstar 75GXP 20.5 GB HDDs
Adaptec 2930U SCSI card (for my CDROMS)
Ricoh CD-RW 2x2x6 (3 years old)
Toshiba CDROM 32x (3 years old)
And the CoolerMaster ATC-200
I have installed both memory modules, and things are running great. I've been cracking keys for about 2 days now and have played Counter-Strike and Tribes2 with no crashes. I installed win2k for the system. At some point I'll get a better video card once I get some games that annoy me enough to buy one.
The only problem was that I had to install the heatsink fan on the side where the power supply is. Not the best place since there's more heat there, but I couldn't install it on the away side since the chipset fan was in the way. It's kind of weird how the fan installs on the side of the heatsink. I don't think you'd have any problems with a heatsink that installes the fan on the top.
Any doubts about stability has clearly been stamped out in my mind. I love this new system
