Seriously all I am really out is about $150 of my own money. I sold a couple things and received $150 worth of amazon credit. I love the device every time I use it in a store, but my Zune does just fine for music and podcasts, but man does their software SUCK. owever I would love all the extra features that it does.

Convince me to pull the trigger....

Edit: It came today...so nice. Hands down the best device ever next to the iPhone.

Hypothetical situation, you and your friends are talking about sports records, you think it's one thing, another says its another, you can just turn on your iPod Touch, hook to a wireless network and bam research and collect your money.

It's a great device, you can use it for Video Podcasts, Movies, TV shows, you can surf the web, get directions, use it as a calendar, and last but not least, you can listen to music.

too bad the only place I'm ever near wifi hot spots are... at home. the iPhone is far more useful for that kinda thing.

Once you buy the iTouch, you can sell your Zune.

Then it costs you even less, and you have a better product.

End of problem.

Bigger screen. Better screen. Thinner build. 3rd party apps assuming you jailbreak it, or 3rd party apps in June when the new firmware comes out I think? The functionality alone of the device is worth far more than a Zune could ever be worth.

Also, 3rd party accessories. There are about a million of them for iPods out there. Something the zune just can't compete with.

I love my Touch, but I really echo what makoto00 said. The only down side of the Touch is that it isn't the iPhone, and I want instant access everywhere. So depending on what/if they release anything in June, I'll pick one up and Unlock it and use it on TMobile. I just don't like AT&T, and TMobile is so much cheaper, and has pretty much the same service in my area.

Is the 32GB iPod Touch much thicker than the 16 or 8GB? I was playing with a friend's iPod Touch today, and I was struck by how impossibly thin and lightweight it is. It makes my 5G 60GB iPod look like a brick.

There is no difference in thickness among the various Touch models.

You know, as much as people complain about how "simple" Apple products are - they cover 99% of what normal people do with it, and it does it VERY WELL. And that is the key to the continued popularity (which initially was just being "trendy"). People can tell me about how their Blackberries, Q's, N95s, Voyagers, etc. are "so much better" with "so many more features", but I'll just enjoy my intuitive, easy access to the few things my iPhone does extremely well

See with 3rd party apps, the iPhone and iPod Touch do everything any other device does and more. There is honestly nothing that they really can't do. Whatever we need can be developed, and once the app store is released, it will just be that much easier to do what everything else can, except be that much smoother and more reliable.

These products are really top of the line when it comes to functionality, style, and build. They will end up being the superior products in due time.

I'm not the biggest Apple fan, but I have to admit, the iPhone / iPod Touch are simply marvelous monuments to design. No one else can design something so intuitive, sleek and beautiful.

Now if only the iPod touch had a volume control on the side like the iPhone does...oh well...

I have to agree here a volume control on the outside would nice as well as the camera, but I am more than happy with the Touch

The problem with the iPod touch not having a volume control on the outside is that, in order to change the volume, one has to take the device out, unlock it (which requires a finger swipe), and navigate to the 'Now Playing' screen.

Not something I'd like to do while in the subway or somewhere I might potentially get mugged for a shiny, sexy, expensive iPod touch.

Actually, if you push the home button twice, it brings up a little screen at the top that shows you the rewind, fast forward, play/pause button, and under it is a bar for volume.
