I saw it today too... Dumbass (that would be me) read the time to be 3:30, when it was 3:15. So no surprise I am seated at Row 2.

I jammed the jacket into the back of the seat and slid down the seat a bit more to get the screen

2.5hr later, back pain

The movie worked. Though I don't think of Pocahontas. More like Star Trek : Insurrection

As a side note, I loved the reference to unobtanium...a rare substance highly sought after in the cycling community as a material to make bicycle frames out of.

Just feal compelled to point out that "unobtanium" is used in tons of different contexts. I assumed the movie meant it to be used is the context of the energy sector where it refers to a material with a limitless supply of non-polluting energy. I really doubt that people would be killing natives just to make better bicycles, but killing them for energy supplies seems alot more politically relevant.

I never said the movie intended for it to be used to make bicycles. Just that it was amusing to me because that term is frequently used on a cycling forum I frequent.

Silly question, would the 3D glasses work at home? I did not have any to try when I watched it. It probably would not be much effect on my 19" LCD though

You hadn't seen this question posed in any of the other 50 avatar threads?

Short answer: No.
Long answer: No, the lenses are polarized glasses, and require a display that is displaying two images in rapid succession polarized in an opposite fashion (RealD glasses use circular polarization: clockwise/counterclockwise). No home display is capable of displaying this yet.

Though I did recently see what I think was a Toshiba projector coming soon that offers 3D. IIRC, it uses polarization.

I don't think there's any way to change the polarity of the image on a home screen like they do at the theater. You'd need 2 projectors, each with a lens that matches the polarity of one of the lenses of the 3d glasses, to reproduce the 3-D effect at home. Even then you'd have to know exactly how to offset one of the images to fool your eyes into thinking they were getting parallax data.

I saw it for the first time a few days ago and almost fell asleep. Twice.

I did fall asleep.

Does every person that sees this film need to create a thread about it? It's not like people are not aware of the movie.

Saw this finally - considering I live across the street from an Imax theater (literally) and I get tickets for $3.50 from work, I didn't have much of an excuse not to....

It was too long, it was VERY predictable, too preachy, and frankly I could have done without the 3D. However, it was still an enjoyable movie. It was what I expected.
