I saw it when it came out and a few times since. I never understood the draw of the movie either. Its neither great, nor bad.

If you knew the ending and premise of the movie going in, I imagine it wouldn't be as good.

I can't imagine watching that film and never experiencing the twist as a surprise the first time (and I can't believe the OP went all this time without hearing the twist already), but I still enjoy the film on a semi-regular basis, unlike 'The Sixth Sense', which IMO is a really dull film once you know the twist.

I think Alien 3 is pretty good film, actually. I'd maybe give it 8/10. Fight Club, maybe the same.

I agree, although I'm not entirely convinced Helena Bonham Carter was the best casting for the role, and I wasn't a huge fan of the ending. Still, overall, I would give the movie an 8/10.

Meatloaf in that movie was a revelation IMO BTW. Perfect casting and perfectly acted.

It didn't help that Rosie O'Donnell gave away the ending on national TV, on the day of release, and told everyone not to see it. What a biatch.

It was kind of "stunt casting" since at the time it was a much different movie from the historical dramas that until then she was known for. Could someone better suited for the role might have been found at the time but I didn't think she ruined the part.

Rosie was just butt-hurt that she didn't get the part of Marla
