Finally started Last of Us...

Just like Uncharted 4, the side stories and the way they are told through notes you find out of chronological order are what really cement why Naughty Dog is great at narrative.

Been googling for info on The Last of Us 2, and it's really sad that there are multiple sites running basically the same story, for the past few days, about Sony filing a trademark for "Days Gone" and speculating that will be the sequel to The Last of Us.

I am not sure exactly what you would call these sites, because they are obviously not news sites, they just pull stories from around the web and either repost them word for word, or just change around the wording.

Days Gone was prominently featured in Sony's E3 press conferences over a month and half ago and it is being developed by Sony Bend and has nothing to do with Naughty Dog or Last of Us. Real games journalists have been talking about Days Gone being a Sony Bend project since back in January.

Hell I might play it a third time on the ps4. Really enjoyed this game and I may just do it on easy so I can see how fast I can go through it. I really hope that they can make last of us 2.

I finished the game this weekend. I have to say, if you like a good story, but you are having trouble getting into this game, you just need to continue to push on. The game really does come into its own in Chapter 6.

It's a game that when you finish, you really need to go talk about it. I even started a New Game+ playthrough just to get the rest of the collectibles and upgrades, but there are conversations and parts of the story that you may interpret one way without having played the game all the way through, and then you will change your mind about the meaning on the second playthrough.

I've seen several sites talking about Joel being "the bad guy". Greg Miller and Brian Altano both said they thought Joel was "the bad guy" in the IGN Spoilercast. Rob Pearson on Playstation Access made a list of times you played as the bad guy and included Joel. I absolutely do no agree that Joel was the bad guy.

1) Who wasn't portrayed as having very gray moral standards in The Last of Us? Very few people, for sure. Tess was not averse to murdering people in cold blood. Marlene promised Ellie's mother that she would take care of her, then she stuck her in a boarding school, shoved her off on Tess and Joel and in the end was going to sacrifice Ellie's life without even giving Ellie a choice. The military was oppressive and dictatorial. The people of Pittsburgh who overthrew the Military, started to hunt down and murder innocent people. David's crew hunted people for food. Joel has been a hunter in his past. The Fireflies wanted to murder Joel after he risked his life to bring Ellie to them, and Marlene just barely stopped them. The entire world of The Last of Us was full of gray moral characters.

2) There was no certainty that if they killed Ellie that they would have been able to formulate a cure. With some of the stuff revealed about the Fireflies in Salt Lake City, I am not sure you can say they would have circulated a cure if they got it. They barely seemed any better than the people running Pittsburgh.

The entire time I was playing the last Chapter, I 100% agreed with Joel. In the cut scene to end the Hospital chapter, when Marlene was asking Joel to spare her life, I was hoping he would off her. That said, when I got into the operating room, I only killed the surgeon with the scalpel. I was tempted to kill the other two, but spared them.

The ps4 version also has the dlc content with Ellie which I thought was pretty cool too. Play that as well.

I loved this game, the DLC content isn't bad either, the MP is great too, I was playing MP for a while but I stopped playing over 2 years ago and later sold my PS3 just when the PS4 version came out, still appears there is some action on the MP servers, but I don't know if it's still active or not? I considered getting a PS4 to get back into it a few times but it never happened.
