Finally Upgrading My Computer

Well more like an overhaul hehe. For the longest time i was runnin at 300mhz, then a slight jump to 1ghz, but with not so good hardware. Finally tired of the dark ages and have some cash to start building a system. Here is my proposed setup.

Gigabyte 8SQ800 (might upgrade when springdale comes out)
Intel 2.4ghz (might go higher but will probably upgrade to >3ghz when they get cheaper)
Mem - either 2x512mb of Kingston PC3200 or Corsair or Twinmos
Either a Radeon Pro 9700 or GFti 4200 or 4600
This case with Turbo Link 420 psu


Already have monitor, hds, burner and sound covered, might get a dvd rom as well. But any suggestions/additions especially where im not sure about what to get would be of help. This will be a gaming system and I have a decent amount for budget (around $1000) but would of course like to save where i can.

Definitely Corsair over Kingston- especially if you want to crank it up any.
depending on cashflow, the 9700 Pro is the first ATI card to actually be worth buying over an nVidia card, but it's a hell of a lot better than the Ti4600.
EDIT:
The psu with that case is nothing spectacular, but I expect couldn't be beat for $20.

Yeah, i wasnt too sure about that psu either. I was thinking about it mainly cuz im lazy and it would be preinstalled. But i'd rather get a quality PSU. I'll look around in the forums, but feel free to suggest a unit.

I would recommend anything by Topower or Sparkle, at least a 350 watt. They are going to be pretty expensive, though, and newegg is out of stock on most of them. Undoubtedly you're going to recommendations for Antec psu's, which aren't as good as those mentioned above, but should work okay.
