finally utilized my CCW for the first time

As in utilize, I mean "carried", not "fired" heheh.

I carried concealed on our hike through a state park here in MO. Felt very comfortable and safe w/ it and it just helps give you an extra piece/peace of mind while miles out away in nowhere.

Am I safe without taking a gun? Absolutely. Am I safe with a gun? Absolutely!

The novelty wore off while making the drive down, it basically is just now a piece of equipment on my person. Cell phone, wallet, pistol, watch.


The hiking/backpacking thing is basically why I really went through with getting a license and a concealable weapon.

yeah, weight can add up quick. Grabbing little things like flashlights, lighter, etc. etc. can start to load you down. But IMO you should always be prepared for the worst of the worst. I've hiked at very high elevations before and went with a minimilist approach and it ended up biting me in the ass (12 hour rain/hail storm when predicted weather was maybe 30 min rain at most) So now I always go out on the trail w/ thermal gear unless you can really predict the weather.
