After purchasing it around four years ago, getting about halfway and losing my saves, and generally taking forever...

I finally beat Shadow of the Colossus. I feel like I should get Ico, but I get the feeling I'd take just as long to beat it. Is Ico more spread out than Shadow? I think part of my problem is beating a colossus generally took me a while, so I would lose motivation to move on to the next one. I also was concerned if I didn't give myself enough time I'd have to turn it off and restart the fight when I resumed (there was no way to save during fights, right?).

Same here. Ico is one of my top 5 favorite games of all time and I only got halfway through SotC before the framerate and, by extension, the controls just pissed me off.

The Ico/SotC HD remake is probably my most anticipated release this year at the moment.

I've been hunting for this game on the Gamestop shelves for awhile. Nobody ever seems to have it. The PS2 definitely had a lot of groundbreaking games. Maybe if I keep holding my breath, they'll do Okami in HD too. Haha, not bloody likely but a man can dream.

Yeah, it's quite obvious the OP is talking about himself taking too long to beat the game due to various reasons, not the game being too long to beat.

I actually bought the game at Best Buy. If you really want it now you could order from Amazon.
Forget Okami in HD, I can't believe they released Okamiden on the DS. I'm quite disappointed to lose that and the Valkyria Chronicles sequels to the handhelds.

As Chalmers and blurredvision have mentioned, it is a comment on my slowness. I think my last save (before going to fight the final Colossus) read something like 12 hours. I'm guessing after the final fight maybe around 14 hours total (keeping in mind I was able to speed through the first half due to having played that before). Actually, that sounds kind of low considering all the times I fell, died, or in some way had to start again from square zero during a fight.

Part of what I was talking about is that it felt like I couldn't spend just 15-30 minutes with the game. Due to the way it was designed, I felt I needed to be able to commit some time to it. I do see how that can come across complaining about length, but really I just would've liked more opportunities to save.

Up there in Canada that game probably didn't do as well as here...which isn't saying a whole lot to begin with...but it was featured in a movie here called Reign O'er Me starring Adam Sandler and Don Cheadle, thus it probably sold a bit better here in the states.

Like everyone else I'm waiting for the PS3 remake. The framerate really killed the experience for me, so about an hour into the game I just stopped playing.

I actually was upset by the fact that it was released in (what I perceived to be--an unplayable state.
