I see alot of ones with my name but, what happens if I try and claim it and the money is really not supposed to go to me is it fraud or will they just check for you to be sure that the money is supposed to be yours?

hehe, this is funny. Try running the name of a city in the business name. I found the city of New York owes themselves quite a bit of $$$. I wonder if they know?

I think this is legit, I wouldn't go thru this company to get your money (if that's what they want). You can get your money free by contacting the State Office of the Comptroller (hehe.. sounds like the office that should hunt down bad traders).

I was also notified of my money by a lawyer who was gonna be so nice and only charge me $60 to get my $400.... avoid the middle man... it's a simple form to fill out.

Skip the sites that charge a fee or percentage to find your unclaimed assets. As I posted, earlier, just search for the official state office for every state where you have ever lived or worked. I have found several thousand dollars for various family members and friends.

If you know the listing is not you, and you try to claim it, you may end up as Bubba's new girlfriend. :disgust:

For example, here, in California, I have found money for several members of my family and a number of friends at the California Bureau of Unclaimed Property. To find the official office in your state, use a good search engine, such as Google, and enter "unclaimed property" (in quotes) and the name of your state.

Thanks! I just found $48 for my mom.

I found $3K a few years ago for my parents (from deceased grandparent). It was like finding a buried treasure..pretty cool.

I'd recommend going directly to the state govt. websites (Comptroller's Office, Unclaimed Property etc) to do the searches for free so you don't have to register with these third party sites.

Do you think Brad Pitt know's he's owed $85.87 from Warner Brothers....gives an address too.

MCI owes some Gray Davis 1990 Committee $1000.00 for "Vendor Payments"....

Let's do some digging and see what we can't find ;-)
