I post any spicy stuff I find in the fast food thread, but thought maybe a thread specifically for spicy finds would be good.

Melinda's Creamy Style Ghost Pepper Wing Sauce. Found it at target for $4.59, this is a brand I see a lot in So Cal, so maybe it's easy to find nationwide.

I'm usually disappointed when I buy something spicy, most of turns out to be barely Tabasco level. But being hopeful, I still buy just about anything I see with Habanero, Ghost Pepper or Carolina Reaper in the name. I was doubtful here because the bottles has 5/5 flames for heat level. That seems gimmicky.

Ate a spponful and was impressice at how spicy it was, it's not 5/5 unless you think Sriracha's hot. But this is probably gonna be too hot for most people. I'd say 3.5/5, but I love heat levels most people avoid. It didn't make me sweat or hiccup, but when I tasted it there was a hit of Ghost Pepper. Hababero & Cayenne. The heat's instant, it builds for 10-15 seconds and lingers for a good while. It's just not spicy, I taste garlic and some other things, the flavors quite good. It's thicker than a typical hot sauce but not as thick as I like my wing sauces to be. It has the vinegar bite and some creaminess of a wing sauce. Looking at the label, sadly it has no butter. It has Natural Butter Flavor (vegan) whatever the fuck that is. I think thrown in a pan on low and simmered with some butter this would make a really outstanding wing sauce. It would be good on wings without the butter too. It has Wing in the name, but it could be used on a lot of things. This is much tastier and way spicier than Franks. I'm currently eating it mixed in a box of janky Kraft Mac & Cheese. For shitty mac and cheese, this sure makes it pretty good.

4.5/5 - flavor
4/5 - heat
5/5 - price.

The fact I can buy this at Target or Ralphs and don't have to order it off Amazon or some website is a huge plus. Also the price is good.

Their stuff isn't "HOT!", but has a nice little bite...and great flavor. We use it more as an ingredient than an actual salsa, but it's good as a chip dip too.

I bought a bottle of Cholula Sweet Habanero and it is very spicy. Starts off sweet then gets very hot very fast. I will add some to my chili recipe when I make it again.

The Cholula Chili Garlic sauce is a great tasting sauce with a good amount of heat.

Disclaimer: I am no spicy aficionado and I can handle only limited amounts of spicy foods.

I was cooking the 2x (10,000 Scoville) and my eyes were watering. My wife who likes spicy food was saying it was really spicy. She did say it was tasty.

Regular Cholula has a great flavor, and I love Habanero, they don't have this at the normal store I shop at so I gotta look for this.

I'm a big fan of Melinda's sauces. I use almost all of them for different things for the exact reason you mentioned.

They make a ghost pepper steak sauce that's got kick too

This stuff is kicking my butt at the moment.

Ingredients are pretty clean and explain the heat! I like it because you can really taste the chillies.

55% reaper certainly has a warmth!

I fucked myself up making some soup a few weeks back. I normally made veg soups pretty spicy (jalepeno, misc hot sauces, etc). Went overboard with a full jalapeno, some habanero salt, and one of my spicier sauces and apparently all together it was a bit much. By the end I had a full-on spicy high, stomach hurt for a few hours after that, and I'm not a slouch when it comes to spicy.

I've got some of that 2x buldak ramen in the pantry due to be cooked up at some point soon, that'll be fun. Ironically I don't like soup ramen so that's gonna get concentrated down real nice. Probably going to have to cut it with lime juice and some QP mayo.

It's not supposed to be soupy, you use water to soften the needles then drain most of it before you add in the sauce.

120 CC of water is all you need just before you mix in the hot sauce. By the end of mixing most of it should be gone as well.

Those SHU numbers are really deceptive. I could chug a bottle of Tabasco with no problems but some of those hot noodles that are just a tad above Tabasco absolutely bring the pain.

Tabasco is only 3,700 SHU... The Samyang 2X you can get now is 10,000 SHU. It's a linear scale but your perception is probably going to be logarithmic.

I was just going on that post that said Tabasco was 7 to 8 thousand units (which did seem high as Tabasco is just kinda salty vinegar). Those noodles definitely punch above their scoville rating though!

People, you don't eat hot sauce, you put it on something else...
I thought this thread would be people posting neat stuff like "Hey I just got the Trader Joe's extra spicy kimchi and it is great! Everyone should try it!" Instead its just people posting local hot sauces.

This was my opinion of the noodles from another thread...

Finally tried these. Not all that hot, but very tasty. I'll definitely buy again.

I never got them again. Kind of forgot.

I wonder how many chefs cry when they find out their customers have drowned their food in hot sauces.

I'll have to check. I don't go to walmart much. Coincidentally, one of the reasons I do go is for hot sauce. I get El Yucateco, and the last couple times, Marie Sharp since it showed up there.

Depends on how big an Asian population you got. I can even get some Taiwanese stuff from my Walmart.

How about no Asian population? :^D

We have a fair amount of Indians I think, but not so much other Asians. The Asian section in the average store isn't particularly big.

Theres a place for a good quality hot sauce. Yeah you dont want to drown everything in it but a lot of things go really well with hot sauce. I'll never eat fried eggs without hot sauce, for example.
