Question Finding PSU's in stock ... anywhere!

Got my new build finally spec'd out on PC PartPicker and had compromised on an EVGA B3 full modular 550w unit. Now it's not in stock today. I can't find a PSU that's reputable with the options I want in stock anywhere. Looking for at least 80+ bronze, full modular, prefer FLAT cables and a reputable manufacturer, at least 550W. Someone HELP me find one.

Yeah, I bought a couple of those a few days ago for ~$68 or so. I too thought that the fact that they were still in stock was a bit suspicious. Do people know something that I don't about these PSUs? 80Plus Gold, 600W, $70? In today's climate, that seemed like a "deal".

Ha, my NewEgg box was crushed and I surprised to find the PSU just in bubble wrap in the box, the power cord taped to it with packing tape (and all sticky AF now). I guess these truly were more OEM models that NewEgg just had a big stack of? Wasn't that impressed, hopefully it works fine.

Yeah, mine were wrapped in a layer of bubble wrap, with the bundles cords all hanging out on one side. I ordered two of them, so my power cords were ina sealed manila envelope. At least, I think that's what's in there.

Come to find out, the 16GB GSkill memory kits I ordered, turned out to be singles, and not kits. Doh! Did that once before, when I was in a hurry picking out discount memory. No wonder it was only $59.99 for DDR4-3200, and the other kits were all $64.99+.

I'm feeling real lucky that about three weeks ago I found a Seasonic PRIME Ultra 550W 80+ Platinum from Newegg for $139.99!

Built a new rig recently. Literally no decent PSUs in stock at the time, so I went w/ a Thermaltake Smart 500w. Ran fine... until I installed a dedicated GPU in my Ryzen 3 3200G rig (GTX 970), then it wouldn't even make it to Windows before BSODing. Turns out it was that crappy Thermaltake PSU. Got a Corsair CX650M and all is well.

Seems the Corsair CX650M is still in stock at Best Buy where I got it from:

Yeah man, duds suck.

The last CX650M I bought from Best Buy was garbage, huge coil whine, noisy fan and unstable with my kids i3 8400/RX 470 setup which should use about 200W total. It was so bad I wondered if the hardware was bad... swapped out the CX at BB for a RM750 as a last resort (at the time I think the CX was $75 and the RM750 was $105!) and it's worked flawlessly. All the platform issues with that computer disappeared after fighting with both an old Seasonic Gold unit and the CX. The beauty of buying at brick and mortar though - I had to drive there, but instant gratification and no wondering if some RMA dude at some warehouse would be a dork and deny my RMA.

Glad yours is working well, for the right price I'd buy another CXM unit too $95 is kind of depressing

Tell me about it! I'm just happy to have found something semi decent in stock. The RM850 is going for like 139.99 right now

Pricing is so volatile still. I just picked up a CX550M last night for $65 new on Amazon. Now it's going for $170 for next lowest price. Even a monitor went up $25 the next morning after my purchase. B365M mobo going out of stock the next day after I intended to purchase... supply issues are very evident.
