Depends on the weight of the bulldozer.

Asking what happens if water leaks on a CPU or PCB isn't all that wacky. A lot of us on here have water cooling on their CPUs, and some of us (like, me) are thinking about it. And actually, asking what happens if food falls onto a CPU or PCB is more wacky, but I watched someone spill a coke inside their computer one time.

Dude...you know it's gonna be heavy...it's an AMD Bulldozer!!

Yeah, I get the parts about water in the case, those are real-life scenarios...but some of the "what if I" things are just over the top.
If you drop fried chicken into your CPU socket...you deserve whatever damage results.

Hmm, I didn't know they made thermal paste to go in between the CPU socket and processor. That must be some KrAzY KoOl stuff.

If you do any sub-zero cooling where you intend for the rig to be 24x7 operational then you will have to put something into the socket to eliminate any air pockets as all air pockets will eventually fill up with frost.

In my case the instructions that came with my Vaporphase cooler instructed me to fill in the socket cavity with Ceramique, and it worked.

You do have to be mindful of the specific TIM you put into the socket cavity as its electrical properties (conductivity as well as capacitance) will be temperature dependent and if you are going to -50C or cooler then not all TIMs are good for this purpose. Ceramique is one of the commonly available TIMs that is good for this purpose. Supposedly AS5 is not.

That's cool to know about filling the socket when using phase change cooling. I think most of the enthusiasts here know that AS5 is conductive (at least at normal temperature).

As VirtualLarry brought it up, does gold oxidize more slowly, or not at all? Quick search seems to say that it does eventually. I wouldn't try cleaning the CPU if it were mine and I couldn't even see where the spot was.

Also, density has nearly nothing to do with something sticking to something else. Put a piece of paper in between your thermal compound and the IHS and screw down the heatsink. Despite having less density, the paper didn't move did it?

lulz..

the socket?

WOW i completely missed his first post..

thanks for the correction.

And unless your talking about dust cruded oil finger print, i still dont think that will do any bad effect.
