Why on earth would you need a dual socket 2011 for gaming? For a server or CPU-intensive tasks, maybe, but in gaming, the GPU is usually the bottleneck. (I would personally switch to 7970s for the increased memory, drop a SSD, and trade in the single 30" for 3 27" monitors).

The OP doesn't have room for three monitors though, which is a shame.

Some people don't want to deal with multiple monitors for gaming.

Wowwwww, I finally got her all put together and up and running....Ended up loading Windows 8 Pro in around 12 minutes or less I think???

After downloading a bunch of my programs, installing bf3 and what not, I do a restart and it doesn't boot...So I recover windows and do it all over again.....Then I start to think it's because I keep updating the Nvidia Video driver, so I do all my updates and programs and no video driver, and wala shes purring like a kitten.

It boots in something under 10 seconds, I cannot keep up with this computer...It is unbelievable how freaking fast this thing is. My FSX won't run which is a shame, but I'm working on BF3 install right now and Saints Row, then on to Black Ops 2...Hopefully my main games will run.

Yea once I get my new chair and desk built, I'll work on doing a little re-arranging of the cables.

I gotta figure out this darn BF3, it will run but lock up at different random times, apparently this is a very known issue with BF3, so I'll have to do a little more research, but otherwise this thing is smoking fast, just needa work out the kinks

If I read your post correctly, it sounds like you have not installed the Nvidia driver. If that's the case, then you can be pretty much guaranteed that games will not run properly.

That's not really how it works. Packing two GPUs into the same space as one is always going to result in compromises. The GTX 690 is hotter, louder, more expensive, and slower at 2560x1600 than two GTX 670's.

The 690 works in some ITX cases though. :awe:

Welll crap I guess with that boot time it should run BF3 on my 30 inch at over 125FPS ?




For everybody else I have EVERYTHING running, WoW, BF2 Bad Company/Vietnam, Flight Sim X, Black Ops 2, Assassins Creed 3, Borderlands 2, BF3 I am still working on though...It's definetly freaking fast!!!!!
