Fios triple play 35up/35d $500 Verizon Visa® Prepaid Card† $109

I'm paying more than that (by $5) for the mid grade FIOS. Makes me angry that they won't let me switch.

We have 3 power users in the family, two pirates and a telecommuter with a VPN, and so far I've never seen 10/ 0.1 have a "real" issue. The minor issue is when two are uploading something and over 95% of the 110k up, so I am thinking the base package should be fine, $75 would be nice.

Damn nice, shame I don't watch TV and only use my mobile phone. I stick with Comcast because the Verizon FIOS for (slower) internet only is $55 a month and you have to sign a contract.

yeah they would... have had Fios since october 2009... so 2011 was the last... but the hassle of returning the stupid router, and the cable box, then re-ordering it... is such a pain in the ass..

damn.. charter offers 100mbps/5mbps up.... tempting... thinking what i REALLY need upload for... my playon... but I think i would use less than that... Have had FiOS for 2 years, and didnt' really need a ridiculous fast upload...

charter is 100/5 + HD shows and everything (stars/showtime/hbo) for 111. Plus you can buy your modem, and save an extra $7 bucks.

Why are you saying that, experience? People at SD are getting it to work I believe. Moreover, I *can* tell you from experience, that if you are not under contract and cancel services, you get the new customer promotions. It is absolutely asinine that they would make you quit and come back. But they do...

BTW I have to say having recently gotten the 35/35 Fios that the upload/download is awesome.. having a few problems streaming videos like "youtube" but that's about it for now

That's the question I want to know, especially in the Notheast. I have done it in the past, but I can't get the free STB or the free DVR after trying twice. I can get the $300 GC I was told by chat.

It's sad we have good prices and lower taxes on many things in the US, but certain items are far more expensive then the other side of the pond. (cellular/Internet/healthcare)

The taxation argument doesn't explain it either, we are paying (in the US) tax dollars for many Internet subsidies. Also, the land area of Europe is vast as well and EU wide prices are far cheaper than the US. It's not like they just wired up 100 Sq. miles.

It's time for competition, or community Internet initiatives.

Anyways, the Internet prices for rural areas are probably as slow/bad as in the US.
