Firearm of choice for ATOT members?

Please, if you hold strong beliefs on the issue of gun control, please start another thread on the subject. This one is simply for the shooter crowd on the forums to discuss our hobby.

I'll start... mine's a Sig Sauer 229, .40 caliber, Pachmayr slipover grip, Cor-bon 135 grainers in the mag. I had a smithy down in Florida do a matte-finish nickel plating job on it and trigger job on it, so it's pretty much uniquely my piece.

Home Defense:

Norinco 1911A1. Don't care what anyone says, its an excellent gun for the money. Backed up by my Remington 870 express

General Plinking:

Chinese SKS, my bolt action SS 22 rifle, or a Ruger 10/22 with a scope. For pistol, its either one of two Ruger Blackhawk 22s, or a Ruger Mark III. All preference mostly

Hunting:

For small game, either of the above mentioned rifles, or a springfield 22lr autoloader with a scope. Varmits, it's either my Bushmaster AR15 or Remington Model 700BDL in .243 Winchestor. That model 700 is good for any game animal in North America. Birds, I'll use the 870 Express.

PSG-1 will almost certainly run you several thousand dollars. It's cheaper to get a G3 and add all of the PSG-1 options. You can usually get a shorter barreled model that way, that isn't has hard to pack in and out for a hunt

Sig P228. I bought a P229 after the military took all the P228 production, and they're basically the same gun, but there's something about a discountinued weapon that really does something for me.

I love that 700 BDL. I had one in 7mm RemMag with a Leupold 3x9. What a kicker. I got rid of it but I still have my Ruger M77 heavy barrel in 22-250. It has a Leupod fixed 12x and it's soooo sweet.
