firefox 2.0 crashing frequently

The last version of firefox hardly every crashed, but 2.0 crashes quite frequently. I'll be surfing, and it'll crash randomly when I click on a link. It happened a couple of times on another computer that I've used as well. Anyone else run into this problem? I'm wondering if it's an extension that I'm using that's causing it.

It's probably an extension causing it. Run FF in safe mode for a bit and see if it stops crashing.

not crashing, but it's back to the gigantic-memory-footprint that I didn't experience with the RC's...go figure.

I may get flamed from this... but the only time I use FF is at work... otherwise I've been using IE 7... partly because of Vista RC2, the other reason is because I see very few reasons to use FF over IE. (for what I use browsers for... I never used an FF extensions... Just the plain old broswer, but I loved tabs.)

It constantly wipes out all my bookmarks etc and I have to set them up again and it loses my themese etc. I also can not view pics posted on message boards form photobucket and imageshack and I have not blocked them. That is the main things.

Yes. I run no extensions. It has been crashing several times a day since I installed it about a week ago.

Weird. I've been using it since "Phoenix" and never had such problems with it on any system.

You can force old extensions to run. Doesn't seem like a good idea, but I've got a bunch force-enabled and I haven't had any problems.

I've been running it since the day before official release, and have not had any crashes yet.

I run FF 2.0 just fine, no crashes here. Even if it were to crash, FF 2.0 is still WAY better than IE7 with all of its security issues.

I also have been having the crash issue. Twice a day on average.. thinking of reverting back to 1.5.0.7

Same here WHEN I use FF now. When I installed FF 2.0 AFTER it was released, it would only open two tabs. That's it. I had no weird extensions installed on prior versions and couldn't find anything that would cause that behavior. Uninstalled FF 2.0 and went back.

I'm now happily using Opera (again) v 9.02. If only the freaking WMP plugin would work with it successfully. Grrrr.

FF2 crashes much more often on me than FF1.5.0.7, and I still prefer Opera 9.02 stability over FF.

Don't think FF 2.0 has crashed once since I've started using it, and I've been using it since RC1.

Been working great for me, use it heavily at work with 5-10 tabs open at once.
